“Pleasantly Surprised!”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

Some friends of ours recommended we eat here when we were in Glen Rose. It is a little bar/shack looking place on the outside, but it has a nice southern charm in its own way. The food is DELICIOUS! I ate a cheeseburger and my husband ate the ribs. The portions are HUGE, so definitely share, or be prepared to take home lots of leftovers. I honestly can't think of a better burger! Very juicy, but not greasy. The ribs were huge and both guys in our group loved them! They also have great sweet tea! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back the next time we are in the area.

The food is so good. First time and will go back. Floated the river and showed up right before time for them to close and still the food was excellent.

“The giant hamburger worth the drive/ride”
Reviewed July 10, 2014

If you are expecting a normal restaurant than you should not make the trip. You have to drive down a single lane side road outside of Glenrose and it is easy to miss if you are not watching for their sign. You pull up and right away the coolness of the place becomes evident. A large field with trees off to the left for parking and recovering after you try to eat their burger. A big covered patio area with picnic tables and an inside area with seating for approximately 40 people. Go hungry and split the burger with someone. The burgers are huge and so are the onion rings. But where some skimp on quality for quantity this is not one of those places. They accomplish both. It is also a great backroad ride from the DFW area. A big draw for motorcycle riders.

“bike rider hangout”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

Excellent food with very large portions, enough for two people to split, although this is not allowed. Service is incredibly poor, with long waits even to sit outside under a carport. There are lots of motorcycle riders on weekends. They often run out of food by Sunday lunch. Condiments sit out in the heat all day, so be careful of the salad dressings. This is not a place you go for service, but rather to drink beer and for the ambience. It has an Austin flavor.

“Awesome time with friends”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

We showed up early with 13 people and the bartender came out to take our order while we waited before they even opened. Several of us had really good Bloody Marys, with bacon while we waited.

This is a very unique place without much indoor seating, but we coveted 2 tables on the patio as friendly and helpful waitresses appeared to take orders.

The food is unbelievable, really good and lots of it. The large burger was 1 1/2 pound of hamburger and the Chicken Fried Steak covered the rather large plate. We started with appetizers, all I can say about the Brisket Nachos is... WoW!!!

The lady at the checkout explained a little about the place, it started as a BBQ joint that moved into town years later. They have live bands on weekend nights and motorcyclists show up every weekend, it was a friendly bunch that we spoke to.

Can't say enough about this place, if you're in GlenRose or Granbury, you should seek them out... and they are out a ways on a country road. However, well worth the time and effort to find. We had a great time... ok, might have been the friends that helped on that accord.

We'll be back though.
