Visited Fossil Rim twice. Was a different experience each time. Love being in the car and have a large variety of animals come up and eye us curiously. They are not skittish. Cafe as a gorgeous view.

We visited Fossil Rim on 9/9/12. The animals were active and plentiful. The park wan't crowded this time of year. The drive took approximately 2.5 hours. Many of the animals came right to the car window which allowed for plenty of photo opportunities. We definitely want to go back again and possibly try the lodge or safari camp. Very glad we took the drive.

This is really an amazing experience, you get up close and personal with wild animals. You can reach out and touch animals that are normally untouchable. Giraffes, zebras, emus, ostriches, deer, and many others. Try the behind the scenes tours for the absolute best views and animals that are not on the regular tour. A great time for the entire family.
Food at the overlook is not the best so plan ahead and bring healthy snacks , and lots of water. Can get real congested on Labor Day, and Spring Break. Bring a good camera and take lots of shots...

Wonderful place!! An ostrich met us at the entrance and that was just the beginning! Lots of beautiful wildlife and even though it was extremely hot they came up to the car and ate our feed we purchased from the office. Cafe is a great place to snack and very reasonable $$. We will be returning!!
