Located across from the Seawall at Galveston, the location for the Casa Del Mar was fantastic. The room layout was such that every suite had a view of the gulf, which was great. The complex offered two swimming pools, one heated (when necessary), one not, but the temperature was fantastic and the pool area was clean and kept up well. The rooms, although very dated, offered ammenities that are not available at a mainstream hotel or motel. There were twin bunk beds build in, a separate bedroom witha queen sized bed and there was a sleeper sofa that could easily accomodate two people. Each room had a functional kitchen and a balcony with a view. Four our family of four, the room was spacious and even afforded us some privacy. Because of the high volume of traffic on Memorial Day weekend, there was security ensuring that only tagged cars came in, which was nice, as parking was scarce.

The condo we rented was ocean view and was spectacular. There was plenty of space and the kitchen was fully equipped for cooking. I could find not one thing wrong with this place. The heated pool was an added plus.

We were very pleased with the way the staff treated us....very friendly and helpful. Maid Service was prompt and efficient.

The Suites are in a great location within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and other activities.

We will definitely go back there over and over.

Room Tip: Try to get an ocean view room if possible. It's a little more but worth it.

We stayed in Casa Del Mar for one day. It's in good location. It has nice balcony with ocean view. It's pretty clean, but a bit outdated. Couch and carpet were kind of a concern as they were kinda stained, fortunately they did have extra blanket that we could apply on the couch. Be aware that the shower head is pretty low, so if you are 6 foot or taller you would have to bend a little. Overall, it was a nice place to stay.

We have been staying at Casa del Mar for our yearly vacation (and weekend get-a-ways throughout the year) for more than 10 years. We have never been disappointed.

Every room has a large balcony and great ocean view. The rooms are clean and very cleverly designed. The staff are friendly and always helpful.

The price is fabulous for what you get if you are looking for a clean, family-friendly place in a great location.

Just a quick jaunt across the street and you are on the beach, which is typically very well kept and has a lifeguard, rentals for beach chairs and umbrellas, etc. I say "typically" well kept because there are years where the seaweed is kind of yucky - but that's only happened once or twice and it of course has nothing to do with the condo - just thought I'd note it.

There is also a pier right across the street where you can go fishing and also hang out and get ice cream and snacks.

Casa del Mar is very conveniently located directly on the seawall, and you really won't beat the price for such a primo location on Galveston Island!

Can't imagine staying anywhere else.

P.S. get on their e-mail list and you get regular coupons for great deals throughout the year!

We stayed there for a few nights during Spring Break. This was a great hotel for the money. Right across from the beach on the seawall, close to everything, loved the balcony and plenty big for a family of 4. The staff was excellent and very friendly. Had one issue with the bathroom and they had it fixed immediately. For those leaving bad reviews, yes, the hotel is a little dated; however, they aren't claiming to be a 5 star hotel or charging for it. It is rated 3 star and every bit as good as the rating. We were very happy with our visit and have stayed in anything from a 1 star to a 5.
