We stumbled upon this place while looking for something off the beaten path and are so glad we did. The service was great; quick with a very friendly, personable waiter. They make everything fresh when you order, so they warned us it could take a little longer, but our food came out quickly. Everything tasted great. Crab stuffed jalapenos, fried, grilled and pull 'n peel shrimp, oysters, crab cakes, catfish with Pontchartrain Sauce with crawfish and crab, and these delightful shrimp kisses. They also have red fish, flounder, and soft shell crab. We couldn't have been more satisfied. A lot of food, and all of it tasted great. The gumbo was good, but they could have thickened the roux a little more. Still, it had sausage, chicken and shrimp and tasted good. Nate's is pricey, $17 - $25 for most items, but that's consistent with the price you pay for seafood on Galveston. They also have a number of non-seafood items, including a chicken fried steak the waiter told us draws lines out the doors on Monday when it's on special.
