Stayed here for 3 nights- stay was ok. Breakfast was the same every morning- sausage, scrambled eggs, waffles, oatmeal, donuts, fruit and yogurt. It's nice when hotels switch the meats every other day, etc. Also breakfast ends @9:30, and they mean it. 2 ladies are waiting to put everything on a cart immediately @9:30, literally moving amongst people making waffles & getting breakfast. I understand that it ends @9:30, but how about letting those people already there finish? Also, there's not enough room in the breakfast area for all the families @ breakfast. Property is right off the highway, as it turns into Broadway- before 61st street. Within 10 minute drive to the piers, seawall, moody gardens, etc. The windows were thin,& heard some highway noise. Thankfully the a/c didn't cycle, the fan stayed on all night to help drown out sound. TV doesn't have any children's channels at all. Tried to get extra towels, said we would be charged extra unless we turned in the dirty ones. No problem, so as I left the front desk to retrieve the towels, she stated maintenance would bring them up. Over an hour later- no towels. Same issue w/a laundry bag. Maybe there's a theft issue here? When I stay at a property for multiple days & don't have housekeeping clean the room or change the sheets, I figure I'm saving them $$. We had a king room w/ pullout sofa. Room was average size until the sofa is extended, then it gets cramped. There's also a wetbar area w/ sink, microwave, mini fridge. Indoor pool & hot tub. Pool is small but ok. Overall an ok stay, but lacking in customer service skills.

We stayed here the night before we cruised. It was very relaxing. Kids got to swim and we were able to get some popcorn and pizza while we watched a movie in the room. Service was excellent. Free breakfast in the morning was a great way to start the day.

This was our second time to stay at this hotel. We used a voucher for one night, and paid for the second night. We got the upgrade with a balcony view, top floor. Since we stayed on a weekend in July, I'm not going to be unrealistic. The breakfast was kind of a mad house each morning, and the indoor pool and hot tub were pretty crowded. We love the location though because it's easy access to 61st and the Boulevard. I'm sure if you want to stay at a resort on the seawall, you can find a more exotic and convenient place, however when we travel with our little boy, we are all about being practical and sleeping soundly. This hotel is the only Marriott on the island I believe, so rewards members need to throw them the business for sure.

This property is the typical business suite type hotel. I would have rated average, but the friendliness of the staff and outstanding cleanliness of the property earned a 4 of 5 rating from me. Probably a good place to stay if you are leaving for a cruise the next day, as it is 5 minutes from the cruise terminal.

This is not a vacation property in my opinion, though there were many families there. There is a pool and it is very small- but I saw kids in there having fun. Workout room consists of 3 treadmills if that's your thing.

Free continental breakfast was a good start to the day. Additionally, they offered eggs and sausage, along with a waffle bar.

My room was clean, comfortable, and everything worked.

Very clean, comfortable rooms. With many restaurants and other attractions requiring a drive, found this to be a convenient place to stay. Helpful staff. Great place to stay assuming your main focus is the room.

We usually stay on the Seawall, but this trip we had 5 people, so we needed three beds for two nights. The hotel room was clean, and the pull out sofa was perfect for the kiddos. The room did not have a bathtub, but it was a wheel chair accessible shower. The breakfast was ample for a free continental breakfast. They had Texas shaped waffles, bagels, oatmeal, eggs, yogurt, cereal, muffins, ect. They also provided a minimal happy hour/reception in the evenings. The indoor pool saved us because Galveston experienced a lightening storm and we were sent home from the beach. One thing I wished I had known: Springhill is across the bay from Moody, and on Friday nights in June and July, they do fireworks which can be seen from the Springhill, and which reflect in the water. The front desk associates were kind, and the housekeeping service was efficient. This is a good place for families looking to go to the beach on a budget, and the indoor pool offers a nice insurance policy in the case of rain! It is a ten minute drive from Stewart Beach and the Strand, and five minutes from the first public access beach. It has easy access to I45, which turns into Broadway, a major road on the island.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that looks out over Galveston Bay.

We visit Galveston annually and this year we decided to stay in a hotel off the beachfront. The Springhill Suites is a very clean hotel. Rooms are small and beds are quite hard, not as comfortable as most Marriott properies. The service is accommodating and friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces Moody Gardens facilities.
