“Nice dinner for various tastes.”
Reviewed April 10, 2014 via mobile

Four of us with disparate selections. Cajun red snapper, Texas blue crab cakes, seafood salad (shrimp and scallops), and chicken fried steak. All prepared (tasted) well, presented well, with excellent mashed potatoes and vegetables. Even had enough to take home two boxes for lunch the next day. The two of us that chose from the dinner menu got wonderful bread pudding with apple, cinnamon, vanilla ice cream and strawberries (shared with the other two). Service was spot on, answering all of our questions and keeping our drinks full.

“Off Saturday night at the Sunflower Cafe?”
Reviewed April 9, 2014 via mobile

When we came to the Sunflower last summer we had a very good experience. The food lived up to the reviews as did the service.

Not so this visit. I ordered the smoke half chicken with vegetables and mashed potatoes. My wife ordered an Italian sandwich with pumpernickel bread. I was brought a quarter chicken which our waitress insisted was a half chicken and no mashed potatoes. My wifes sandwich came out without pumpernickel. I finally got my half chicken. It was very dry and had a strange, off taste. Not sure if this was a one night problem or if something has changed at the Sunflower.

Amazing breakfast and delicious baked goods. The cheesecake brownie was delicious! We will definitely go back when we return to Galveston!

“A hidden gem!”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

One of the best places to eat on the island. Highly recommend the tomato soup with grilled cheese! Also anything from their bakery is delicious. They are open for just breakfast and lunch and dinner. Call ahead to see what the specials are.

“Consistently Great Food And Specials”
Reviewed March 16, 2014 via mobile

After a short hiatus from this great local eatery we visited the Sunflower for a great Sunday lunch.

On spot! Short wait but we'll worth it!

Did a lunch special stuffed shrimp with "real" crab....Wow!

Reubens sandwich was also out of the park!

Huge menu and I can't wait to get back and do the crab cakes with eggs....I'm thinking tomorrow morning!

If visiting Galveston Island make this a stop for some quality food. It may be off the main drag but we'll worth the detour.
