“Another Great Breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

Sunflower Bakery has become a regular stop for us during trips to Galveston. We haven't even begun trying pastries and baked goods. Determined to eat seafood at every meal, we chose the crab cakes and eggs, again. They could be described as crab cakes Benedict. Perfectly poached eggs, delicious crab cakes topped by tastey but not lemony sauces. We actually ate breakfast twice at Sunflower. Highly recommended.

“Tomato Basil Soup to Die For”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

I found this restaurant about a year ago and any time I travel to Galveston I have to include this on my visit. I was told the Tomato Basil soup was their signature soup and thought sure.. but tomato soup is tomato soup.. NO!! this soup is awesome! I wish they would publish the recipe.. it's that good.. a bit creamy with chunks of tomato, basil, onion, don't know what else but it is absolutely incredible! I'm also addicted to their key lime tart.. crumbly sweet graham cracker crust, creamy, not-too-tart lime custard and sweet, heavenly whipped cream.. oh and there's a fresh strawberry.. it is soo delicious!! Always busy, but never a long wait.. well worth the visit.. and you can order some to take with!!

“Great stop in Galveaton”

Excellent food, outstanding service marked our visit to The Sunflower Bakery and Cafe. The crab cakes are full of blue crab meat. The compliment of fresh vegetables and fries were perfect. We will totally come back here again.

“Bakery Needs Help!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

Stopped in for coffee & pastry on a Saturday afternoon. Stood at the bakery counter while hapless employees and their manager ignored us and several others after us. It seemed like we customers were all a major inconvenience being there. Styrafoam cups for the lukewarm coffee? Pastries were good but didn't make up for a lousy overall experience.

“Very Good but Slow Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

Our food was great especially the crab cakes benedict. So good! The only problem was our waitor. We saw him maybe three times. We had to ask the other staff for water. We were not very happy about that.
