We stayed here the night before our cruise, the price was great and parking was free during our cruise, unfortunately our car was vandalized during our cruise, the passenger door was damaged and the side of our car was keyed all the way from front to rear. The hotel does not have cameras or security and of course told us you parked at your own risk. It was easy to get to the cruise ship via cab, about $20 each way, but trust me don't leave your car parked there, spend the extra $ to park in a secure lot, just not worth it. The hotel itself is OK, nothing great, a bit outdated, needs some TLC. The breakfast is OK, a bit crowded. The staff was nice, but when we asked about places to eat or restaurants we had heard about they did not seem very familiar with them or give us advice. For the price its OK, but again just a warning DON'T LEAVE YOUR CAR PARKED DURING YOUR CRUISE.

This place was in a great location for us,The staff as kind & Courtesy checking in and out, most of the places we wanted to go, was walking distance. We could have left the truck in the parking lot the entire time, even the grocery store was in range if we needed. (but this time of the year,, burr)The two things we didnt like,1) was the entrance to this place.. the entrance is between other buisnesses.. and 2) there was some kids running in the hallway around midnight, Otherwise, the place was nice! WE had a balcony, in which we could still see the seawall. the room was very clean & no smoke smell. :) A decent continental breakfast, abit crowded but understandable. Overall We were pleased & planning on another trip to this location in the near by future with all the childrens.

When researching places to stay before our cruise, this seemed too good to be true. The price was great and though a block from the beach, there were King rooms with views, so we booked one on Expedia. I was a bit skeptical when we drove up, as there were signs that perhaps upkeep wasn't a priority, but dismissed them. The desk clerk was pleasant. We got our room Keys and went to the room.

The room is clean, however there are stains on the carpet, dents in the refrigerator door, scribble marks in the hotel information book, damaged lampshades, wrinkled dog-eared cards advising how to get clean sheets, etc. There is a window, but the room is fairly dark. There is a single wood door to the very small balcony. The view is of the parking lot and the motel on the other side of the parking lot - nothing else is visible at all. When I asked if I could have one of the rooms with a view, since that is what i booked, the front desk clerk advised me that although they have one available (and the price is less than what I paid for this room), I can't have it because I booked through Expedia. She further advised me that in Galveston, a view simply means that you can see outside. The elevator was not working when we arrived, but they did get it fixed by the time we returned from supper. They had fresh cookies in the lobby for a while. When asked about where we could obtain a map and information about Galveston, they didn't have anything available except a cartoon map of part of the island that I could buy for $3.49.

If you're just looking for a place to lay your head for the night, this is probably OK, but otherwise I would not recommend it. They do have free parking while you are on the cruise, which is a nice bonus. We will find a different place to stay after the cruise.

Room Tip: Be specific. Ask for an upper room with a view of the water not on the parking lot side!

We arrived on New Years Eve and had a handicap room reserved. The room was perfect except there was a family in the room above with kids that kept jumping off the bed and running around. The hotel was booked and they could not move us but the very nice staff did everything they could to no avail. New Years day Marisol, the front desk clerk asked and the manager approved moving us to the top floor with an ocean view for the same price. Since there is an elevator we gladly took the offer. All the staff have been so nice and the room, the bed and all have just been perfect. Thank You Baymont.for making a difficult situation the best possible.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra and ask for the ocean view room. The handicap room was very nice and large but n...
