A drive through this section of town will give you a nice perspective of this city. Lots of nice old homes many of which have been restored and one will see a wide range of different color painted houses. Mush of the area is well maintained. This are is primarily housing thus you will have to leave that area for food and drink.

Drive around and see the beautiful gingerbread Victorian homes and elaborate mansions, like the Bishop's Palace and the Moody Mansion. Keep an eye out for the tree sculptures.

Historical mansions. Craftsman bungalows. Victorians.....all are beautiful and just driving by is fun. We toured one Victorian (yes, I really wish I could MOVE!) that survived the 1900 Flood; and it's beautiful oak trees even survived Hurricane Ike! Don't miss wandering through these neighborhoods.....they are all beautiful.

Love to drive around and look at all the unique Victorian houses. The owners take such pride in the neighborhood. The houses are unique and the colors used on them are awesome. Each time, I find a new favorite house!! It is a fun time, just driving around and looking at the houses (or walking around if you feel adventurous!).

Those who know say that the East End Historic District has the largest collection of existing Victorian homes in the United States. You can drive through the area and see some architectural gems. Since most of the tree sculptures are in this area you'll see two attractions at once and the small ones won't get bored as quickly. As you look around remeber that all of these houses were inundated with up to 3 feet of water by Hurricane Ike in September, 2008.
