As i was told you can be called Big Daddy if you eat it all. This is one huge bowl of awesome gumbo.

I’m sorry i can’t remember our servers name but a tall blonde who was awesome. I would recommend anyone here in Galveston to try this place out

The Gumbo Diner always has wonderful food and never disappoints. My husband had the special of Creole Jumbalaya and I had the Seafood Omelette. Both were delicious.

We usually drive from Lake Conroe to Galveston to enjoy their gumbo. We are visiting on the island for two weeks so we will be back next week for gumbo!

We finally decided to drop in and give this place a try. The food was very good but there was a little room for improvement. I had the chicken and sasauge gumbo which was excellent. There is no way one person can eat the large by themselves. The small is a very large portion. My wife had the oyster poboy which was pretty ok. It came dressed with lettuce but no tarter or sauce of any kind. It took a little while to flag a water down to get some tarter sauce. The place also looked a little rough. The wall next to our table had some white stuff that looked like some kind of scale on the wall. I would recommend a good spring cleaning.
Don't let anything I said discourage you from giving this place a try. We will definitely be back.

Gumbo was good and massive in portions. Split the small one OmG it was a lot. We also noticed a guy from Dallas with a cooler picking up gumbo to take home. That says ALOT.

Ate there twice, once for breakfast and once just for gumbo in the evening. We read the reviews about Service and found them not to be an issue at our two visits. Sharlene greeted us and delivered our breakfast fast and we had pancakes, eggs and thick bacon and grits. All good and priced close to ihop prices.
Next day went for gumbo at dinner time. The waitress sat us and timely took and delivered our gumbo. We watched the couple next to us and a table of about 5. They were sat and waited on without delay.
