“Wonderful dessert”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

After dinner at another restaurant we went to Luigi's for dessert where we had a chance to visit with wait staff and the owner. Luigi's has great atmosphere with professional staff who truly knows fine dining. During the off-season there aren't as many patrons which made the restaurant seem empty. That is understandable. The menu was creative. If we ever go to Galveston again, we will go to Luigi's for our main meal, not just dessert.

“In the Old city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2012

We were there midweek in early December. It was very quiet. The room is large and has a very high ceiling. The tables are set with white tablecloths and brown cloth napkins. It sets a nice tone.

They brought us bread with a dip. The bread was soft. It should have a nice crunchy crust. We have noticed hat it is difficult to get nice crusty bread in Texas. What a shame.
The dip was oil, vinegar, spices and a bit of Parmesan, it was very tasty.
My husband had Caprese salad. It came without salt and pepper. There isn't any on the table. We had to ask twice for it.
We ordered, Lasagna and Eggplant Parmesan respectively. Both were very good. They do however give you too much tomato sauce.

Wine is only available by the glass or the full bottle. It is extensive and a bit on the expensive side.
We ordered a glass of red each. Good but served a bit on the cold side. It should be cave temperature really.

The service was mostly efficient and pleasant. The waiters are all dressed in black.. We certainly would go again.

“Fine dining environment but was not impressed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2012

We went for lunch during Dickens on the Strand. The food me and my husband had was not impressive. I've paid less for much better. The service was decent... But we had to ask for most everything except for drink refills.

“Galveston Respite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

Luigi's is a special experience in Galveston. Yes, there are a lot of places to eat in Galveston but Fine Dining is very hard to find. Look no further than Luigi's on the Strand. Expect and receive great service and wonderful flavorful foods and a great wine selection as well. For the special birthday party, expect Luigi himself to sing to you in Intalian with a wonderful operatic voice that makes the whole night wonderful. You will not be disappointed.

“WOW Italiano!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

Luigi's is a one of a kind Italian place. The service is impeccable, and the food is out of this world! Everytime we go there, the experience is an awesome one. Luigi's is great for date night too!
