Touring the Bishops Palace is a must when in Galveston. The period furniture, decor and design of this home is truly beautiful. You learn a real history of the place, and feel like you were there in time.

Enjoyed the self guided tour, but it would be better if they would have the house furnished. It cost $10.00 and you can only tour the 1st and 2nd floor. We found out after the tour that you can pay $30.00 for the 3rd floor and basement, but this is once a month. I don't think the tour is worth $10.00 a person but $2.00 is going to re-roofing the palace.

I know this sounds odd, but the entire visit would be worth it just see the Calla Lilly Chandelier in the entrance. The panels of the Saints upstairs is unlike anything you are likely to find anywhere else.

Excellent if you like to see the architecture and learn more about the history of the building and the island.
