“Beautiful architecture”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

Wow, this place is amazing! Craftmanship that's hard to find these days. Took the self-guided tour so I could go at my own pace. An interesting insight into times gone by. There's an extensive gift shop in the basement where you buy the tickets.

“Great day trip from Houston”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

The city is rich in historical landmarks...this one is not to be missed. Well preserved interior with opulent carved wood trim, marble and stone. Designed by local architect Nicholas Clayton for the Gresham family during the gilded age in Galveston-prior to the great storm of 1900.

“Crowned Jewel of Galveston!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2012

This gorgeous architectural gem is the crowned jewel of Galveston architecture and a must-see on any historical tour of the island!! Remarkable look into the home and lives of Galveston's turn-of-the-20th-century super-wealthy!

“Interesting house; not a lot to see though”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2012

It took less than an hour to go through the house with the audio tour. There was interesting architecture. There was very little furniture in the house. The outside is probably the most beautiful part of the house. It’s worth going through if you have an hour or so.
