The city is rich in historical landmarks...this one is not to be missed. Well preserved interior with opulent carved wood trim, marble and stone. Designed by local architect Nicholas Clayton for the Gresham family during the gilded age in Galveston-prior to the great storm of 1900.

This gorgeous architectural gem is the crowned jewel of Galveston architecture and a must-see on any historical tour of the island!! Remarkable look into the home and lives of Galveston's turn-of-the-20th-century super-wealthy!

It took less than an hour to go through the house with the audio tour. There was interesting architecture. There was very little furniture in the house. The outside is probably the most beautiful part of the house. It’s worth going through if you have an hour or so.

The history alone is worth going here. Many Texas firsts are in this home and the home itself is beautiful.
