Fascinating from and architectural and historical perspective. Tour is too long. Young tour guide had the annoying conceit of talking about historical people in the present tense, was something of a smart aleck/liked to hear himself talk and tended to interpret Victorian norms in terms of current culture (which is inaccurate). I enjoyed the house in spite of him.

This house (mansion) is open daily for audio aided tours. The recorded tour is very interesting and provides a lot of history on not only the house but also the city.

The history of this beautiful old home is told against the backdrop of the history of Galveston. Not for those think history ann archetecture is booring, but a delight for those who find it facinating. Hour long tours led by knowledgeable and enthusiastic ddocents.
