We booked a specific condo 8 weeks before our vacation. Apparently the owners decided to move in permanently as is their prerogative. This happened approximately one week after we made our reservation. The management changed our reservation to a different condo. However they did not inform us until we arrived after driving 6 hours today. The alternative condo was supposedly an upgrade, but had much less beachfront area. All the bedrooms were on the back. After making it clear that this was not acceptable, they offered us a discount. Fortunately we were able to get last minute accommodations two properties over at the Galvestonian. Islander East refunded our deposit, but this negative, frustrating, and disappointing start to our vacation could easily have been avoided with an email or phone call weeks ago.

On the beach.Beautiful view.Quiet. Very friendly front desk. Unit 110. Very high end decor.Great area. Close enough to the restaurants. Great trip from Dallas. Nice pool. If you are looking for a great getaway this is the place! Book 110!

Really enjoyed the view and the distance from the seawall. Am uber trip to the strand was around 6$. We stayed in 608 and was really disappointed there was a full fridge but no oven. A toaster oven would have been helpful. All in all we had fun and will stay again!

+ The view was great and the desk person was nice.

- The room was dirty. There was dust all over the ceiling fans and all over the ceiling above them. The cabinets were dirty inside. The silverware had dried food on it. The bedspreads and throw pillows were stained. I am not usually picky about cleanliness but this was bad. Other than the dirt the room was well worn but ok. It is also hard to sleep because the wind caused really loud noises at night.

My husband and I went alone but next time will take our kids! Make sure to spend the extra money and get an OCEAN FRONT room! I would have paid double after watching the moon rise over the Gulf! A glass of wine and the waves crashing against the shore...wow! There is also a nice pool when you get tired of the ocean! Look into it & have fun!
