Owner description: We are a family friendly fishing pier. We offer rod rentals, bait, cold drinks, sno cones, wine, cold beer, margaritas, snacks, pizza, hot dogs, gifts, and lots of fun. In addition to having a pier for fishing, we also have an observation deck for those who dont want to fish, but want to sit above the water and enjoy the cool breeze of the Gulf of Mexico.

We have visited the pier a couple of times, stopping in for a beer and watching the fishermen. From our condo we can see the pier all day long and with my binoculars I can see flocks of pelicans assemble there in the evening.

Looks old. Tito is a very interesting character. Fun to go up top and watch the fishermen and watch for dolphins. We got lucky one day and saw a lot of them. Coffee is not great, but gives you a pass to go up top. We are here for two months and have been there several times. A good place to meet people.

The fishing is great here, they can furnish everything. No food, but lots right across the street. they have bait, rods and reels, everything. It is 10 to get in for 24 hours plus your stuff. However, you can fish on the walkway for free and many people do. We love it here. SHhhh don't tell.

Liked -that I got to fish - so that is a plus...didn't catch anything though.
Disliked that the pier was just too small; it was the first place we went and so we were excited, but not very relaxing overall.

Good news is that someone actually rebuilt a pier after Hurricane Ike when they were all destroyed - so thank you for that. However, this pier could be much better - attendant had a poor attitude; only food available is chips/hotdog; new pier is well designed, but very very short/small (good stools and benches every few feet, LOTs of rodholders and good bait cutting board, etc). Large number of "regulars" fishing there on the T-Head just past sunset and families with kids probably would not be too comfortable fishing here. The regulars on the T-Head had many more than the three rods suppossedly allowed, so even though there were a couple of open benches for my son and me, was a very narrow slot to cast for us. Again, if this is your only access to fishing, then much better than nothing, but nothing to write home about. Gone are the days of the San Luis Pass Pier where there was tons of room on a very long pier in a very productive area.........(too expensive to rebuild after the last hurricanes).
