“Lemons into Lemonade”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

Galveston has been the victim of hurricanes in the past but this last time destroyed trees were sculpted into wonderful works of art. These art pieces are spread throughout the town and one just drives around, stops to enjoy the art piece sculpted from a hurrican damaged tree and then drives to the next. A real treat and so imaginative to turn disaster into beauty.

“Uplifting”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

Artists turned damaged tree trunks by Hurricane Ike into various sculptures in front yards of houses. Human spirit prevails devastating disaster! If you are in Galveston, this is a must do activity! It is an easy walk along several streets. There are many beautiful houses to enjoy too!

“A beauftiful tribute to resilience”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

We picked up a map showing where the tree sculptures were located and drove around the area, stopping and taking photos of every one (My personal favourite were the Herons) The quality and detail varies but they are all a testiment to the resilience of the people of Galveston, as well as a reminder of a devasting event.

“Get a Pamphlet early and do this leisuely”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

We found out about this when we were on our way out of Galveston and only got to see 3 or 4 of them. Get the pamphlet early so you can see them during your whole stay at your leisure. They are fantastic!
