We chose this hotel because they offered free parking while on a cruise. The shuttle departure times were limited, and their shuttle fee was an additional $14/ per person, but we decided to still go with it and settled for the latest one.

We then found out our cruise was delayed and passengers were discouraged from going to the port for several hours. We decided to spend the extra time in Galveston but Eva at the check-in counter refused to refund our shuttle, even though we'd JUST purchased it 10 minutes before! NOT very accommodating!

The hotel itself is OK - somewhat dated but clean and comfortable. We had no washcloths in our room, but that was probably just a small oversight. Interesting area, right across the street from the ocean - nice area to walk. They also offer a reasonably good breakfast.

Not bad. Not awesome except for the view of the pleasure pier and sunrise from our balcony. Clean rooms. Comfy beds. No eggs on their hot breakfast and people were coughing in the serving area, so we went to waffle house. Will stay again because it's close to some watering holes and restaurants. Will do for a weekend getaway. Parking was scarce when everyone turned in. Front desk guy was courteous.

The Ritz, it isn't; but other than the name and ritzy amenities, this was second best! Very nice well-appointed lobby with pleasant service at check in. Out room was spotless and it appears the hotel had been renovated from top to bottom. Large bathroom with marble vanity and tub surround, the room, with two queen size beds was a nice size room with flat screen TV and a large dresser with mini fridge and microwave. Our room and balcony faced the Pleasure Pier and the Gulf. Heater warmed up the room quickly and the bed linens were snugly fresh and warm. Coffee pot in room but there was coffee and hot chocolate available downstairs in the breakfast area.

Do not let one persons poor review deter you from staying here. Normally I would read about their experience and think, I don't want to chance it, but take the advice of the others who have had nice stays and consider this charming hotel.

Stayed at the Country Inn for one night. The hotel is as close as you can get to Seawall without actually being on it. My room had a king bed, nice size bathroom and a little balcony (enough for two people to sit comfortably) which had a great unrestricted view of the gulf. The location is excellent as there are a bunch of bars and a convenience store within a couple hundred feet of the hotel. In addition the beach is right across the street and a large pier within a quarter mile. Room was clean and hotel seemed nice.
I'm going to give the couple negatives which are really picky but overall wouldn't stop me from staying or recommending this hotel. The breakfast had a solid selection but at 6:15am, the eggs & potatoes were cold. The indoor pool was too cold to use. The front desk had zero restaurant recommendations and with going at a "non-peak" time - parking was close to full (clearly not a spot for every room)
I paid $65 for the night which was great value. I would stay there again despite the couple negatives.

Room tip: Ask for room that faces the gulf

Pretty Simple ,but great staff ,very comfortable bed ,quiet ,clean, next to mayor restaurants and most of the seawall attractions, also they offer a complimentary breakfast with a good variety of choices to pick from ,this was a big plus thought , Overall everything together, made our stay very enjoyable, I will pick this place on my future visit to the Island.

Room tip: 3rd floor ,rooms south side are quieter.
