When we visited in early December, the house was not open for ordinary tours.
It seems that they do run pre-scheduled group tours.
As the local tourist information office is located in its grounds, it seems odd that the local body cannot organize itself so that individual tours are common place.
These grand old homes are a great asset of Galveston but they don't seem to be used to their full effect.
Perhaps if you email them in advance, you will have better luck.
