“A must for residents and visitors”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

The Ashton Villa should be seen by anyone and everyone coming to Galveston. It is a very important part of island history and is very entertaining.

“Wedding there”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

We enjoyed having the wedding there in October 2009 and being able to use the outside gardens for the wedding and the beautiful villa for the reception.

“Ashton Villa”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

There was a 25 year old manning the desk when we arrived at 11am and he couldn't have been more disinterested in our visit. He offered ZERO assitance and told us nothing about the home or even if there were available tours. The only reason we saw any of the inside of the building was because the rest rooms are located there. Very disappointing.

“Love the guides story telling ability”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

Enjoyed the historical perspective and although it's not the fanciest house to tour in galveston. The guides story telling ability makes up for it. They make you feel comfortable in the home and aren't constantly giving you an evil eye for standing there like some of the other home tours. I've been here several times throughout the years to bring visitors and the tours are consistently good. I love this house!

“Halloween only”
Reviewed June 3, 2012 via mobile

Sadly, the Historical society only has this open for reserved tours for Halloween. Take it as its a great house with the fascinating history of Miss Betty Brown, who was a bit of the Auntie Mame of Galveston. We miss touring it other times of the year, but at least there's a chance during the October ghost tour season.
