“Right on the beach but away from the hustle and bustle - STAY HERE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

We have been to the Galvestonian about six times over the last 10 years. It is always a joy. All rooms face the ocean so just choose the size you need for your group and book it.

The Galvestonian is right on a quiet part of the East Beach, you just cross over the dunes on their own bridge.

The units are well equipped with furniture, bedding, kitchen equipment, TV's and a brand new wireless internet system that works well for those of you that "have to" work while you are there. Galvestonian management has very high standards to which all units must adhere.

So whether you are coming to relax at the beach, the pool, or your balcony or if you need to get some work done, this is the place.

Room Tip: All rooms face the beach so just choose the right size. Noise is not an issue so the floor you are o...

If you are wanting the best in a vacation resort, look no further. We stayed at The Galvestonian in August, and frankly we did not want to leave. In fact we requested an additional night because it was so fantastic. Our condo #107 was not only spotless, but it was so well stocked I was in shock! Both the balconies faced the beach along with facing the beautiful heated pool. We are already planning our next trip and will be requesting the same condo. The Rileys, owners, of #107 will make sure your stay is nothing but perfect.

We recently got the pleasure to stay at the Galvestonian (room 1215). The Galvestonian is AMAZING!!! This was a trip for our family and a close friend (6 people total). I had not been to Galveston in years and remember it not being that great last time. I now know that was because I stayed in the wrong place since now I wish I could go back already.

The Galvestonian makes it seem like you have the entire place to yourself. From the second we walked in we were treated like royalty. The staff was great and always very helpful. We talked with Mitch on several occasions. He was always very helpful and never guided us wrong. He even helped us pick a great place to eat, and gave very informative reviews of several places nearby. Greg, the manager, met us as we were loading up and ended a phone call right when we walked out to come up and inquire about our stay. I can't express enough how impressed with the staff we all were.

The Galvestonian seemed to have thought of everything. Towels in the lobby, shopping carts to carry up groceries, etc... The layout was also great. Just outside was a large deck. Half had lounging areas and then half was a great pool / hot-tub. It also had covered areas with fans and a row looking out to the ocean. You then walk down from the deck into a well manicured area of picnic tables / bbq grills under rows of palm trees. From there you proceed down to the beach. It was very well maintained and great. I highly recommend bringing flashlights because at night it comes to life with crabs that the kids loved to find.

Our room was just as amazing. From the living room balcony you looked straight out at the Gulf. You could also go out on the 2nd balcony and see the Gulf and view of the Island. Then from the master bedroom you look out towards mainland and the shipping channel. The views were all great! The Galvestonian also has metal covers which lower over the windows. These are fantastic as they keep the room pitch black if you want it to be.

The room was furnished with everything we could think of. It had all the cooking / dining equipment we could think of. It even had a variety of dish options from nice glass down to plastic, which was great for kids or taking to beach. We were impressed with the furnishings.

If I was forced to give something to change / improve on it would be very difficult. I think the only things would be: 1) Having some way to help prevent a child from opening the sliding doors (maybe a key lock, a bar near the top to keep it from sliding, or a lockout device to keep the shudder from being raised). We had a 5 & 6 year old and were nervous wrecks at bedtime each day that one would wake up and want to explore. At 12 floors up this was a major concern even though it turned out to not be any problem. 2) Our shower in the master bathroom was very fancy but the design (being half open) caused water to splash out no matter how you angled the sprayers.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property to anyone looking for a secluded / nice getaway. My family and I will definetly be returning....the sooner the better!!!

Room Tip: 12 is the highest floor available and has GREAT views.

We've stayed at many different types of accomodations over the past thirty plus years of vacationing in Galveston but the Galvestonian is our favorite and we return year after year. I always study the Internet site with pictures of the rental units available and pick the one I want. I have never been disappointed in the condo. The grounds and pool area are beautiful. The beachfront is always groomed and so convenient to access. We have always had a wonderful time here.

If you are looking for a first class and relaxing place on the East End of Galveston, this is the place! It caters to families and is very peaceful. The layout of everything makes it easy to transition from the pool area to the beach or picnic areas. Our unit was super comfortable and well appointed. The view from the balcony is incredible! You want to be sure and catch that sunrise! The staff is so friendly and helpful. As soon as you see the lobby, your blood pressure drops. It is done in soft blue and greens and very seaside. I will go back in a heart beat!

Room Tip: All the rooms face the gulf. We didn't hear anything from the floor above or from our neighbors.
