Nice friendly place. Kid would love this place. Pool was great. But the drinks were watered down. I drank a shot of tequila and didnt feel a thing. It didn't burn or taste like tequila. Pina colada didnt have any kick to it at all. Room was alittle dirty when we arrived. Spot on the comforter, bathroom floor looked like someone had dropped some food on it. Some hair left in the bath tub. But a very pretty place.

The A/C unit in our room obviously froze up regularly. It froze up and exposed my husband to mold in the carpet - which he is highly allergic to. They obviously don't clean the carpet when this happens and we wound up missing a day of vacation due to this making him sick. The hotel moved us to another room due to our complaint, but the room was not even ready yet. So we left to give the staff time to get the room ready. Then the new room's restroom's sink fixtures didn't work correctly. We couldn't turn off the cold water correctly. And the staff did not even come to clean the room the next day. Geez!! Not impressed at all!

Let me start by saying that I am a travel agent, and I will not be suggesting this hotel to clients. My husband and I had a romantic mini vacation scheduled for Galveston and wanted to stay by the beach. We stayed the first few nights at the San Luis Resort and it was amazing and worth every penny. They were sold out on the 4th of July, so we moved over to the Hilton Resort next door. At $239.00 per night plus tax and the Hilton name, I figured it would be nice, as well. When we went to check-in, we had a small cooler that we keep our insulin in while we travel. My husband and I both have Type 1 Diabetes, and our insulin cannot get warm. We were told that we could not bring in ANY cooler, no matter how small. We were never told this on the phone, or prior to check-in. Then we told her we needed it for insulin and she didn't believe us, so we had to show her our insulin pumps. She rolled her eyes. Then a manager stepped in and offered a small fridge free of charge. Then we check-in and realize that you must pay for wi-fi, which in this day and age is sad, considering the price. The air took forever to cool the room. We were hot until about 3am. And to top it all off, the walls are very thin. You could hear the neighbors and anyone in the hallway. It was pretty noisy until after midnight, and again at 6am. Maybe, if this were a $99 room, but at $239, I expect better.

Stayed at this hotel on and off for business over the past 6 months. Great service, fresh food and absolutely clean rooms. The eggs at breakfast come out of shells not bags or stirred with water. The fruit is fresh. The staff are amazing from Carol at the Restaurant to Amelia at the front desk offering you a good morning even at 6am! Also a great place to walk right in front of the hotel is a large walking patc

I booked two nights just a week in advance (just prior to a holiday) and the rates were between $125-159 depending on the room ammenitites. We chose a room with gulf view and two double beds. Our mattresses were just average quality, felt very used and I've slept in much more comfy beds at cheaper rooms, so that was my only frown about the rooms. The room was stunning in appearance, clean, smelled great, had a clothesline that pulled out in the shower (new to me!) for bathing suits. The staff was very professional and the housekeeping staff was always friendly in the halls. The halls are too narrow for a such a large hotel but guests were friendly about it. The pool was amazing with the rock waterfall and hot tub. We were there as a family of four with our kids being 6 and 2. The beach is across the street, of course and you're there in about 3 minutes once you walk to the traffic light and cross over. It's a great location with the Rainforest Cafe and fun Ride and also Landry's, IHOP, Kroger within a block or so each way.

We booked eight rooms for our family reunion. We arrived at 4:00 expecting to get ready and go right over to the beach. Only one of our rooms was ready. We had to bring all our bags in there and take turns dressing in the bathroom. This process took a long time out our time to enjoy our vacation. I wondered if they just waited till people arrived before cleaning the rooms. Then one of our groups arrived late and their room was not ready at 6:00. When we left we left some hanging clothes that we did not discover for two days. When we called, they had found them and said they would mail them to us. I had been very disappointed but this helped to redeem our opinion of the hotel. Everything else was nice.

We stayed at this Hilton location the nights of June 28th and 29th. Never have we experienced such excellent customer service. You can't pass an employee (management, maintenance, or housekeeping) without receiving a big smile and being asked if everything is OK and if there is anything they can do for you.

Kay and I were returning from the pool (fantastic), walking down the 1st floor main hallway towards the elevators discussing that neither of us was familiar with a local attraction we had heard several other guests talking about. Already having been greeted three times in the hallway by employees pushing carts (pushed off to the side and stopped to allow us lots of room for passage) and one member of the housekeeping staff... yet another employee walked by, smiled and asked how we were enjoying our stay. She kept walking one direction, us the other. In about 20 more steps, a voice is rushing up behind us asking us to please wait. The employee (Angie Wells) said she had overheard us asking each other about the attraction and asked for our room number... saying she would pull information on it off a computer and deliver it to our room in a few minutes. I'm thinking "No way.", but sure enough... within 10 minutes Angie was knocking on our 10th floor room door handing us a 3-page printout on the venue. Unbelievable. Wow!

Our entire 3-day, 2-night stay was like this. Both of us have stayed at many prestigious hotels before and NEVER experienced this level of customer service. As Kay said... "This is SO over the top good!" We will be back.

Again, a very special "Above and Beyond" thank you to Angie and the entire staff of this well-run establishment. We will be back.

Room Tip: We had a 10th floor, Gulf view room.... outstanding.
