The Hilton Galveston Island Resort is a good place to vacation with family. Our family of three stayed during early July for two nights. We were able to get a good deal on the room last minute through hotels.com. The hotel is clean, well kept, and close to many restaurants. They have a nice pool with waterfall and swim up bar. There is also plenty of comfortable seating around the pool area too. There are cabanas available for rent at the pool area, although I'm not sure of the cost. There is a restaurant inside the hotel with a daily breakfast buffet for $13.99 per person. We did not eat at the restaurant during this stay, but remember it being good from a previous stay. Landry's, Rainforest Cafe, and Ihop are all within walking distance. The beach is just a few steps across the street. The parking is free and we never had difficulty finding a parking place at night.
Overall, this is one of the nicer hotels in the Galveston area, and I would recommend it to anyone staying in the area. We will definitely visit again!
