“Improving with time”
Reviewed March 29, 2012

This area is still recovering storm damage. There is plenty of building going on for new fun park on the water. It will be exciting to see all reopened.
The beach and seawall area are not quite as clean or family friendly as they once were . We noticed it to be a bit of a rougher area than 10 years back. Look for positive changes with new city plan

“I love the Galveston Seawall.”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

The Seawall is where most of the attractions are located. There is free parking all the way up and down next to the beaches however during spring break the parking becomes a little challenging. The beaches are reasonably clean but don't expect white sand like Cancun. There are several restaurants along the Seawall that offer a wide variety of dining with a view of the gulf (Salsa's is a must for Mexican food lovers). There are two fishing piers that seem to be very popular. One at 61st and a second at 89th. They are building an amusement park on the pier of the old Flagship hotel. It appears almost ready to open. There is a wide sidewalk between the road and beach that provides plenty of room for walking, bike riding or skating. There are plenty of motels along the Seawall that are conveniently close to the beach. Take your own chairs and umbrellas or you can rent set-ups. You can view several live webcams on the island by visiting the Galveston.com website. Have fun!

“Funfilled activities”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

The Seawall is a cool place to visit. There are many different options offered to do while you are there. You can rent bikes, longboards, and other activities. The Seawall is where most of what's going on in Galveston is. Most your restaraunts, shops, and hotels are located all along the Seawall.

“Own private beach”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

We stayed in Newcomber Estates in a rental home in Jamacia Beach close enough yet far enough and had private access to the beach. Must stay.
