The seawall is a nice way to stroll the beach and enjoy the view of the Gulf - not obstructed by condo after condo like so many resorts.

A Corp of Engineers marvel. If you read the story of its construction, you would not believe what these folks accomplished in the early 1900s, without the benefit of the heavy machinery now available. A huge monument to man's building skill.

Dont forget your Camera and your walking shoes. The weather was great even in January we were able to get in the water. the new rock scupltures on the seawall were great.

Great job with clean up post Ike.
One can get your exercise in by renting a cycle and peddle up and down the wall,
The feral cats keep the rodent population down.

Unless you know the when and why of the thing it will be overlooked by most. Parking along here for beach access is a bit crowded. Read up on it and appreciate it's amazing engineering for keeping the island anchored and "afloat".
