“Very interesting.”

Have been a couple of times & never crowded. Tour admission money goes to a worthy cause. Would like for my grandson to be able to go inside a plane maybe?

“Loved chatting with the mechanics”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2014

I visited on February 6; annual maintenance work was in progress on several of the planes that are flown in the summer, including the B-17. The workers were very willing to chat about mechanical details, it is clearly a labor of love. Conversation with them was a fascinating bonus. Look at the American flag on the right as you enter the first hangar; the stain marks the water level from hurricane Ike. The hangar is not heated so if you go in cold weather bring a coat.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2014

Well, what a surprise!
Considering how much damage the hurricane made, the contents are really well presented. The Catalina I know was left there and is the most beaten up of all of them but as my Dad flew in one in the war it was my favourite (of course).
Shame to hear about the 2 seat Mustang that crashed 1 week after our visit - RIP to those involved.

“Another Survivor”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2014

The Lone Star Museum is recovering from a terrible hit by hurricane Ike. Some planes could not be saved, but they have done a remarkable job restoring the damage to some of the salvageable planes. Others are still being repaired. Rides are also available in a few of the historical planes. I gave a good friend of mine a ride in the biplane for his birthday. First present I've given him that he actually loved!

“Great Airplanes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2014

I'm not a big airplane fanatic but my dad is. We went in Jan 2014. He loved the museum. Lots of planes to look at and if you go on Saturday's you can actually fly in different planes. The flight does cost money. We plan on going back just so he can take a flight.
