This flight museum is worth the time to go through and see restored aircraft that are kept in air worthy condition. Kids loved this when we first went through.

The Lone Star Flight Museum is a Gem. Small by aviation museum standards but NO less impressive. It is not the Smithtonian, or Seattle or Wright Pat. BUT. The Lone Star Flight Museum is home to one of the finest collections of restored aircraft and aviation exhibits in the nation. Over 40 restored aircraft are displayed and most are in working condition. The collection includes WWII Fighters, Bombers, Liaison Trainers, and Executive Planes. It is a working museum. Many of the WWII era planes are available for a not to be missed flight experience. Flights are available on some for a fee that is tax deductible.

My son-in-law and I recently were privelelged and honored to FLY on their B-17 , "Thunderbird." It was awesome and a flight to remember. History comes back when you get on that plane and take off and remember all the brave men that flew on these airplanes and secured our freedom.

This costs $8 per adult which is kind of pricey to me. It was warm in there bc it is inside a hangar. A lot if the planes weren't there when we went. My husband seemed to enjoy it but I was kind of bored since it basically just has the planes. I wouldn't go again.

Great look at planes and lots of them, you can not get super close or inside any planes. Very hot in the summer, go early!

My husband loves old war planes, we were impressed that most of these are actually in flight worthy condition still.
They were cleaning them while we were there.
Lots of nice things in the gift shop. We bought too many,
