My wife and I take a trip to Fredericksburg every year right before Christmas, and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere but Baron's; in fact, we consider the Log Cabin to be our own personal little getaway retreat. What is surprising to me is how much it feels like the country, but the cabin is only a couple of minutes from downtown Fredericksburg. We love the fireplace, the rustic decorations, and the cozy bed. The owner, Daniel Meyer, also likes to visit his customers, and his personal interest is another fantastic touch. I've never been to Switzerland, but staying at Baron's Creekside has given us a taste of what it might be like. Highly recommended.

We spent 4 nights in the Interlaken cabin and it was lovely. The place is so private and has a nice rustic feel - yet there is the flat screen tv and jacuzzi! I loved opening the cabin door in the morning to hear the bubbling stream and to see the owner's 2 friendly cats and dogs. The coffee pot was our only problem, as another reviewer noted, but Daniel was very responsive and got us a brand new one.

The property has a wonderful location very close to town, but off the beaten path. If you love sun and outdoors, this is a special place to visit.

Literally minutes away from downtown Fredericksburg, you wouldn't know it as you sit alongside the gently flowing creek and listen to the silence of the Texas Hill Country.

The cabins are fantastic and the owners are close, yet give their guests the privacy they want. There were other guests on the property, but we felt like we had the place to ourselves due to the nice layout of the ranch.
The Swiss cabin we stayed in was very comfortable, quiet, and romantic, which is exactly what we were looking for. Plus, if you know Fredericksburg, you know there is plenty do do within minutes of your cabin.

Great food, great hiking, close shopping, and of course you must check out the local breweries. If you want romance, comfort, and want to be close to town, choose Baron's Creekside. It even has free wireless internet!

We will be back. Mike & Tati

Really enjoyed our stay. Told Daniel the coffee maker didn't work and he replaced it immediately. The rooms contained semi antiques and were VERY comfortable and CLEAN. It was far enough out of the main drag to eliminate the noisy bustle and close enough to everything for a quick drive.

In celebration of a girlfriend's 50th birthday, eight of us trekked from Lake Conroe/The Woodlands/Houston to Fredericksburg and booked the Hiltop Chalet which accomodated all of us. Our stay at Barons Creekside far exceeded our expectations! The entire property is reminiscent of a Swiss village, and because of the privacy of the cabins, we were able to enjoy ourselves without disturbing the other guests. We are planning another trip in the fall, and we will definitely be returning to Baron's Creekside. Thanks, Daniel, for being a wonderful host!

My wife and I stayed in the Geneva Cabin to celebrate her 40th birthday. We travel frequently and sometimes get tired of hotel rooms. This was a terrific experience! Though we arrived late, our keys were waiting for us at the rental management office as promised. Lights were on at the cabin welcoming our arrival. The first thing to strike us was the craftsmanship of the cabin. The jacuzzi tub had gorgeous stone walls and the copper sink fixtures blended style with Swiss functionality. I think we could have spent our entire vacation sitting on the front porch of the cabin in the oversized rocking chairs. It was a blast just watching the interplay between resident ducks Punky and Valentino. Valentino is pretty protective of his girlfriend and follows her everywhere. The grounds were overflowing with wildflowers and my wife took nearly 400 photographs. And the waterfall always provided a soothing backdrop of sound. The owner, Daniel, stopped by to introduce himself and offer any assistance but then left us to our privacy the rest of the trip. The pride he has in his cabins and property is almost contagious. I saw him one day and told him he was working too hard. He replied, "This is not work for me. I love it!" And, I believe he truly does. I noticed some other folks had lower ratings for the dining. Well, there is no dining at the lodge, so I can understand that. But, the dining in Fredericksburg is outstanding. We ate at 7 restaurants in town and were pleased with each one. And, they were all just a two-minute ride from the cabin. Also, I'll add this just for convenience. There is a WalMart less than five minutes from the cabins. That came in very handy when my wife needed a few items for the trip. We will visit these cabins again.
