“Not a cool place in August”
Reviewed August 17, 2014

The park is close to Fredricksburg and near the county fair grounds. There are picnic areas under large live oaks, and streams to enjoy, Bring bread to feed the ducks and geese. It would make a good morning activity for the family if you wanted to take advantage of the cooler hours and pass on the heat busting swimming pool.

“Camped”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

We did not get a chance to really see the park, but we camped in the RV park. Many spaces are pull-through. There isn't a whole lot of shade (some are definitely shadier than others), but the park is otherwise nice with full hook-ups. There's a nice playground for the kiddoes. The city swimming pool is immediately adjacent to the campground. The airport is also next to the campground, but we weren't bothered by noise. In fact, we enjoyed watching many planes take off.

“Quiet spot”
Reviewed July 17, 2014

We stopped here in the afternoon to scout out some of the walking trails. We sat under a tree and watched some of the mockingbirds and then went on to a birding station that is very nice. You can tell that someone is putting a lot of effort into this station, with a viewing platform and some informational aids on display. I can recommend this place and will return.

“Complete”

My favorite is The Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course. A $2 million renovation done in 2012 makes this a must stop for golfers. Great greens and fairways and people are so friendly. There is a large RV park, separate swimming pool, ball fields, hiking, fishing etc.

“Clean and perfect”
Reviewed July 8, 2014 via mobile

We visited the day after Independence Day and it was still very clean. The pool was wonderful and clean. Life guards were friendly. Baby pool was fun. Babies lived the water fountains that they could step on in the baby pool. The older kids played basketball, sand volleyball, soccer, on the play structures and kayaked. Then they went to the pool and loved the diving board. We all had a great time.
