My wife and I found The Cotton Gin on the internet, and it looked nice enough, so we decided to make it our honeymoon destination. When we got there, it was so much more than we expected! The cabin was excellent (we stayed in the Guadalupe) and the pictures don't do it justice. It rained that night, and the sound on the tin roof lulled us to sleep.
The next day, we ate at the buffet at the restaurant , with the though of "ok, hotel food, better than fast food," but we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The buffet was the highest quality you can have and still call it a "buffet". We should have known how good it would be when the parking lot was full!
Dinner was even better. I really can't rave enough about the quality of the food that was served. While a bit pricey, it was well worth it. I have spent more here in Houston on much worse.
The grounds of the place were immaculate, the food was delicious, and Fredericksburg is ideally located for a vacation getaway.
I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality bed and breakfast, not to mention a top class restaurant.
