“Enjoyed our dinner”
Reviewed September 9, 2012 via mobile

Based on reviews on this site, choose Cabernet Grill while we were in town. It was a very good dinner. Good atmosphere, service and the food was very good. If you are looking for a nice restaurant while visiting Fredericksburg, you can't go wrong.

“Great food, service, wine and atmosphere”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

Have made several trips to Cabernet and have yet to be disappointed. I've had a variety of steaks, coconut shrimp, chicken breast, tejas mixed, surf n turf, rainbow trout and several wines (texas made mostly). Everything was cooked to perfection. The wait staff was very attentive and made great recommendations. We had from 4-6 on each vist, with everyone getting a different dish and sharing it w/the table. Prices are medium-high, but not obsurd for what you get. Most wear casual work clothes, but they pride them selves on "being comfortable" when you eat, so there's no dress code per-se. On weekends, during dinner hour, it might be best to make a reservation, but we did not the last two visits and had almost no wait (we did eat at 8, however)

“Food & Wine Fest Cooking School Here I Come”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

Friends told us about Cabernet Grill and I couldn't wait to try it. It lived up to my picky expectations. We started off with a fresh tomato and goat cheese salad and also tried the pheasant apple chowder and were very pleased. The lump crab gratin was to die for (as I pop a Lipitor). Our wine came in a cowboy boot wine chiller - very Texas! My husband had a steak that was perfectly cooked and I had shrimp with a side of their cheesy grits. Peach cobbler for dessert and it was time to get a wheel barrow and roll our content, sated selves out of there. Friendly, funny wait staff and a visit from the chef were an extra treat. October 27, I can't wait to go to Wine & Food Fest cooking school with the chef from Cabernet Grill and mayby learn a few of his secrets.

“All Time favorite in Fredericksburg”
Reviewed August 31, 2012 via mobile

The restaurant is probably one of the best in Fredericksburg. We go every time we are there and they never disappoint. The food is well prepared and tasty. The service is perfect. They have a good selection of Texas wines. The prices are reasonable. I highly recommend it. We had two meals, dessert, two mix drinks, one glass of wine for $87. Try their mint julep mix drink. It's very good and they add some of thei homemade lavender syrup.

Perfectly cooked, everything our party had was great including the scallops and steaks. Would like to stay in a cabin next trip!
