“Nice restaurant recommended by customer that was leaving”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2014

Nice variety of menu items. Pleasant atmosphere and good service. We were not that hungry as we had a big breakfast at the bed and breakfast where we were staying, so the waitress suggested one of their sandwiches which was big enough to split. Truly in the basement of a building that houses a great kitchen store.

“A Fredericksburg Hidden Treasure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2014

My 90 year-old father was visiting us in April so we took him here. The cellar environment is trendy - I like the small rooms and dining areas, much more cozy that way. The food is always consistently good-to-excellent here and the service staff are superb. The variety of menu choices will have you coming back for another dining treat - one of my favorites is the pesto-walnut and feta stuffed salmon. Look for the stairs off of the main street and head down for a Hill Country treat.

“We enjoyed this very much. It is below a kitchen store so look for it.”

This obviously is a cellar. Keep your eyes peeled for the staircase. We enjoyed the German food very much. The beer and wine were good as well. Busy and crowded on a weekend night.

“Mmmmm pork chop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2014

My sister got the pork chop at lunch with a wonderful cherry jalapeno sauce that we wish they sold. I had a bratwurst sandwich which was good but I wish they had a mustard better than Frenchs.

“Hit for lunch today....okay food, few issues”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2014

Squeezed in lunch here on our last day in town. Had some B&B certificates to burn. We arrived right at 11am and you go into the basement of a retired hospital I think. Was busy. Our table of 6 was quickly seated. Drinks came out pretty quick. We started to ask some questions about the menu and the waiter said that it may be 30 minutes before we can get lunch. Its 1115 and the menu says lunch starts at 11. What? Something about the breakfast line has to complete before they can move over to lunch. We almost left then. We decided to roll the dice and actually the food came out in a reasonable amount of time, so no biggie. One person ordered something with humus and pita, was just ok. I ordered the German plate. Sausages/knockwurst were just ok. The veal was outstanding. When we left 1215ish the place was empty so clearly a breakfast place I guess. Would go back......but didn't hospitals have the morgue in the basement? :)
