Originally I was wanting to stay in a B&B, however, we were only going to be there for 1 nite and it is difficult to find B&B's for 1 nite so my second choice was the Hanger Hotel. I was very pleased with the hotel, the staff was very friendly, our room was very large and very clean. We ate breakfast at the diner and found the food good and the diner quite unique.

How often can you say that you stayed on a airport strip? I will definately stay there again when I go back.

I always look for the unique, one-of-a-kind hotels, and this fits the bill. How many hotels are on a landing strip!! I can't imagine visiting Fredericksburg again and staying anywhere else. The staff is friendly, rooms spacious and clean, fabulous martinis in the Officers Club, and my best meal in Fredericksburg was at the Diner next door...great cheeseburger! I wasn't overly impressed with any restaurants in Fredericksburg (stay away from Rathskellers), but we didn't try them all. After shopping and wineries, we couldn't wait to return to our hotel to relax, sip martinis and watch planes take off and land. The only downside is extremely limited channel selection. Who wants their only news source to be brainwashing Fox news! We're late night TV watchers and would prefer pay-per-view options. We'll return again with our portable DVD player.

Wow, where do I start! Just the look of the building is exciting enough, then you walk into the lobby and it's like you've gone back in time. Hardly saw any staff members but for the pleasant guy who checked us in and out - am not complaining by the way. Hotel smells good. Decor is beautiful. Rooms are clean. Bed is comfortable. TV is pitifully small, boxy with a few channels but who has time to watch TV when there's so much to do/drink in Fredericksburg? We only got a glance of the officer's club on our way back from main street but it looked cozy and again like travelling back in time. The diner is another experience all together. The view! There's all these people flying in from heaven knows where, parking their planes and walking in (shorts and crocs) for brunch - people actually live like that?! The hotel is 5 minutes from main street. We will stay here again. I can only say I don't think it would be fun for kids.

What a great place to stay! We landed earlier prior to our check in time so Buddy (Check-In) let us check in early. We went rented a car from the hotel. If you can, call ahead and they will reserve a courtesy car for you.

We went to Luckenbach which was about a 15 minute drive to purchase souvenirs. For dinner, we went onto Main Street at Mamacita's. It's a great place to eat. Awesome food!

For breakfast and lunch we ate at the diner. It was great! The only thing that I missed out on was the shakes at the diner. They looked so good.

We had drinks in the Officer's Club. Mary, the bartender, serves the drinks up just right.

Overall, great place to stay......We will be back!!!

This is a wonderful place to stay! Every member of the staff was polite and welcoming. There was complimentary water in our room, fresh baked cookies in the lobby, and an assortment of breakfast items in the lobby in the morning. The hotel is covered with awesome vintage aircraft photos and tropical accents. The grounds of the hotel are spotted with palm trees and old static aircraft. It overlooks a small airport and we enjoyed watching all the planes land and take off. We will stay here again and again!

This is a lovely hotel, in fact we are returning this weekend. The rooms are spacious and very nicely appointed in a '40s theme. This is a great adults only location, as there is nothing to kids to do. The hotel does not have rollaways, so it is trylu two people only. Also, there is no food available. There is a diner in the hanger next door, but it is only open until 2ish. There is a resturant within ealking distance, but nothing readily avail at the hotel.

Still, it is an absolutely charming hotel that I recommend highly, so long as you come prepared. Perfect for a get away for two.
