My husband, two children and I just returned from Fredericksburg where we had the wonderful experience of staying at the Hangar Hotel on July 4th. After running across this unique hotel on the internet a few weeks ago, my husband and I were really looking forward to staying there. I must say that it far exceeded our expectations. The WWII South Pacific decor is beautiful and the rooms are simple yet very elegant. The rooms have king size beds so the hotel is more appropriate for couples. However, it was not a problem for our 4 year old to sleep with us while our 18 month old slept in his pack & play. Despite being part of the airport, the hotel is very quiet with very little air traffic. The Officer's Club is really nice and serves a very tasty "Pilot's Punch." One of my favorite features of the hotel is the 1940's music playing inside and outside the hotel night and day. Fredericksburg is such a lovely little town with plenty to see and do. We are definitely planning on returning and staying at the Hangar Hotel again.
