The Hangar Hotel is the most unique place I have ever stayed. Wonderful 1940s theme but with modern luxuries. It is a perfect complement to the Pacific war World War II museum. The officers club lounge coupled with the 1940s music makes this a wonderful relaxing and nostalgic place to stay. Watching planes take off and land on the adjoining airstrip is an added delight. The adjoining AirPort diner is a perfect way to start the day with great service and excellent food. I strongly recommend this hotel.

If you have an aviation background, or perhaps a military background, or just love airplanes, or maybe just want to try something a little different, THIS IS YOUR PLACE. My wive and I came to Hill Country for a wedding down the road and thought we do some Texas wine tasting while in the neighborhood. I stumbled into The Hanger Hotel on the internet, and being a retired USAF pilot and current airline pilot, I was obviously attracted. We had a wonderful two day stay. Staff friendly, rooms great, hotel atmosphere is all aviation, the Airport Diner next door, which I believe is owned by the hotel owner, serves a great breakfast, and the O'Club Bar was a hoot, filled with great Americans! Duncan Holmes, the blind piano player at the bar, is phenomenal! Coming just to hear him would be reason enough to stay here, but the hotel all-and-all was a delightful experience and we'll be back someday soon! Incidentally, the Cabernet Grill about a mile away was totally awesome, a great place for dinner with the largest selection of Texas wines in the State, and very reasonably priced!

Room Tip: We were at the end of the hotel which may be a little quieter if the "O'Club Bar" is fired up, but I honestly think anywhere in the hotel would be fine?

This was our third trip. WE have made this our Fredericksburg favorite place to stay. The rooms are very good size, 1940's ambiance...We were staying with friends we always meet there to enjoy the Rockbox theater in town. The desk help and Officer's club is very cordial. Enjoy a drink in the Officer's club and play a game of pool while relaxing after dinner. The hotel is actually at an active airport ...no, it is not busy nor loud. Many older air craft make landings for the weekend...Sit on the porch in a rocker and enjoy the quiet evenings. The Hanger Diner is wonderful to eat a very good breakfast too! All the favorites such as pancakes, eggs, french toast, and good coffee! It is also set to the classic old time diner. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Ask to be put somewhere in the rooms in the center of the building. So quiet. We prefer the 1st floor rather than taking an elevator.

A great hotel that we would return to! We stayed one night on a weekday, so it wasn't too busy. The 1940's ambiance of the hotel was so very charming. Sadly, the night we stayed, both the officer's club and the diner were closed. We did get to shoot pool in the officer's club even though the bar was not open. The rooms were clean, spacious, and quiet. The king bed was on the firm side, but we slept well. The observation deck was a great place to lounge. We did see one jet take off in the morning. The breakfast was limited - homemade scones, juice, fruit, and coffee.

We stopped over in Fredericksburg on our way from Midland to Houston, we found the hotel on Tripadvisor whilst travelling and booked in with no problems. We said we would arrive about 8:30, however when we arrived in Fredericksburg we decided to go straight to dinner so called the hotel to tell them we would be there about 10:00, "no problem" she said, "I'll be here"

Very courteous on arrival, rooms great, aircon maybe a bit noisy but that's not unusual. What's the deal with people moaning about only having 6 or 7 channels?? Ever heard of books??

We had breakfast at the diner which was excellent, staff friendly.

Pretty much nothing to be said about this hotel, excellent price too.

We will definitely be back!
