We really enjoyed our stay at this unique hotel. The rooms were immaculate and very very clean. Great bar. We stayed here while attending a special event at the Fredricksburg Herb Farm. Would highly recommend to any couple. We will be back!

The Hangar Hotel is a charming hotel located near the local airport in Fredericksburg. I was concerned that it might be loud due to its location, but not at all. No pets or children under 18 allowed, so it was nice and quiet - just what I was looking for. It is away from the main attractions in town and has minimal amenities, but is a comfortable room with friendly staff. Just a short distance to my favorite restaurant - Cabernet Grill. The 40-s style New Years Party complete with big band sounds was so much fun!! I will return!

We have stayed here in the past because of the unique WWII theme throughout. As a son of a WWII veteran I really appreciate that the owner/developer wanted to keep that era alive. The adult only policy also adds to the attraction. This trip brought us back to a New Years Eve extravaganza being held in the special events Pacific Campaign Quonset hut next door to the hotel.

The rooms are spacious and fairly well appointed. However while the mattresses are comfortable the bedding is average and the pillows are tall and firm. We booked 6 rooms and there wasn't anyone in our party that didn't complain about the pillows. If watching TV is important to you then you should know that the television sets are small and very outdated.

There are no amenities at this property unless of course you own a plane and in that case you have an airstrip. The 50's themed diner next door is great and the Officers Club bar has a grand piano and pool table making it an ideal watering hole. The only thing that could be better is to have a friendly and fun bartender. Something that's been missing on our many visits.

Change out the bartender and the pillows and you've got yourself a great place to revisit what made this country great.

Room Tip: There are only 50 rooms. The even numbered rooms face the Quonset hut and diner next door. The odd numbered rooms face the airport and hangers. Odd numbered rooms downstairs has car parking right outside the windows which can become annoying.

Loved everything about this hotel. Different, unique, large quiet rooms. Great bar area, friendly folks. Would absolutely recommend to all couples, girls weekend or other adult themed nights. We were there on a week night so we didn't get to have breakfast at the cool diner next door, but had good cones and really good coffee downstairs in the lobby. A really wonderful time was had by all.

Hangar hotel is just that, in an old airport Hangar. The rooms are pleasant, but not spectacular. There is no wifi available, or if there is, staff hides it well. They had a very light continental breakfast (coffee was good and the scones are great!) Its also fun to be so close to the airport....the taxiway, which is not very busy, it right next to the hotel and there is a great viewing deck. Decent diner next door. The Officers club lounge is adequate for a hotel bar. Not many channels for viewing, and my wife got tired of looking at all of the scantily clad cheesecake girls from the 40s. Also, this place is far enough from town, that driving is a must. Clients were mostly older couples (I'm not sure they allow kids). That was part of the charm though as the clients were very friendly and willing to talk and get to know others.

Still we liked the place and would probably go back again. There was no fitness center or pool.

Room Tip: Ask for something on the Diner side of the hotel, unless you want to be awoken by aircraft warming up their engines.
