“Nostalgia DeLuxe”

Wow, if you are nostalgic for the 1940s, this is your place. If you are not, this is still an excellent place to stay. When you first drive up, it doesn't look like much - then you walk inside and WOW! From the music playing in the lobby to the decor of antiques, this is
great. The rooms are also furnished in the same theme, but with all the modern amenities, plus 2 large distressed leather chairs. Nice outside deck overlooking the runways where you can watch the planes land and take off. The restaurant was closed on Tuesday during my visit, but the breakfast of coffee and homemade quality scones was excellent. The entire property is non-smoking and pet free, a bonus for the state.

Great! A very unique hotel! My girlfriend and I stayed there many times, and each time was romantic adventure. We're both pilots,so the aviation ambience was perfect for us.The rooms are fantastic, and the decor truly takes you back in time.
The sweep of the airport beacon light on the windows added a special touch for a couple of pilots who are also incurable romantics!
The officer's club was a wonder, and it was fun to sit on the balconey on a fall night and just look at the stars!
The grill next door is a great place for lunch, and there is a first class resturant just a short walk away.

We loved this hotel. Very clean, comfortable, and cool! If you are staying in Fredericksburg, you can't go wrong at the Hangar Hotel.

  • Liked — Ambiance
  • Disliked — Wish they would furnish a few rooms with 2 queens instead of all king sized beds.

My husband, two children and I just returned from Fredericksburg where we had the wonderful experience of staying at the Hangar Hotel on July 4th. After running across this unique hotel on the internet a few weeks ago, my husband and I were really looking forward to staying there. I must say that it far exceeded our expectations. The WWII South Pacific decor is beautiful and the rooms are simple yet very elegant. The rooms have king size beds so the hotel is more appropriate for couples. However, it was not a problem for our 4 year old to sleep with us while our 18 month old slept in his pack & play. Despite being part of the airport, the hotel is very quiet with very little air traffic. The Officer's Club is really nice and serves a very tasty "Pilot's Punch." One of my favorite features of the hotel is the 1940's music playing inside and outside the hotel night and day. Fredericksburg is such a lovely little town with plenty to see and do. We are definitely planning on returning and staying at the Hangar Hotel again.

We do not own an airplane or fly other than commercial airlines. I picked the Hanger Hotel after reading about it here in Trip Advisor. We like to stay at different hotels and this sounded very nice. The Hanger exceeded our expectations by far. The people are nice. The room was wonderful. We loved the furnishings. The bed, linens and towels were first rate. The 2 chairs in the room were really great. I am trying to find them on line and checking about purchasing one or two for our home. The porch was very relaxing and was interesting watching the planes come and go. We were here mid week so did not get to eat at the Diner, which we would of liked to try. The hours they are open did not meet our schedule. We stayed in 4 hotels while in Texas, and the Hanger was most definately our favorite. The continental breakfast could be a little better, as there is no coffee in the rooms. If the diner is closed you have to drive a bit for breakfast. If back in this area again we wil be staying here next time.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the Hangar Hotel and loved it. Everything was exceptional quality; the linens, fixtures, towels, etc. Our only complaint is that the lighting in the room was poor. But other than that it was great. Have a drink at the Officers Club and play a game of pool, or just chat with the other guests on the observation deck overlooking the runway. Many of the guests have a strong interest in the world of aircraft, so it's a fun place to strike up a conversation! We'd stay there again for sure!

We chose the Hanger Hotel for our honeymoon in November. It was a wonderful place to stay. The outside of the Hanger definately hides the luxury within! Our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived, so we went next door to the diner and had a delicious late lunch. When we went up to the room, we were pleasantly surprised. The room was beautiful - furnished in leather and woods. The linens on the bed felt devine. Everything was very clean and quiet. I think the tv could be larger, but that's just being picky. The club wasn't open during our stay, but it looked like a great place to meet and have a drink. We watched a fabulous sunset from the observation deck one evening. All in all, it was a perfect retreat.
