Went for dinner tonight and found a new favorite restaurant. Husband and I both found delicious wines. The bread was excellent; warm, crusty and delicious. Our salads were crisp and fresh and the home-made basil dressing was quite tasty. Husband ordered the scampi dish which had finely chopped kalamata olives, tomatoes, and angel hair pasta. It was delightful. I ordered the chicken piccata on the recommendation of our waitress. The menu said the dish was racy....and that was a great way to describe it. It was delicious!! Lemony, with plenty of capers covering a large tender chicken breast that had been either pounded or sliced to a thickness of no more than a half inch and then gently pan fried (not battered) and served over wonderful lemony fettucini. A dish for the gods! The perfect chicken piccata. Even though we were stuffed, (we got boxes for half of both our dinners) we ordered the gelato so we could tell how good this restaurant really is. The flavor of the night was mint chocolate chip. We got 3 fairly small scoops; a great serving for 2 people. It was delightful!
Our waitress was delightful; knowledgable about the menu and the wines. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is ok. Our only suggestion is perhaps some Italian music would help set the stage for this fine place. We will definately be back. Fredericksburg, you need to support this business!!
