Jellystone Park Texas Wine Country Camping Resort
Reviewed June 17, 2013

Made our first visit to Jellystone Park Texas Wine Country Camping Resort a couple of months ago. What a wonderful park to take the grandkids while in an RV! Tons of planned activities for the kids, beautiful pool area, bouncing pillow, arcade games and movies at dusk for old and young alike. Staff is super attentive to kids needs. Well stocked gift shop to browse, basic rv supplies and even a nice wine selection for Gram and Gramps to enjoy once the kids are down for the night. This park also has nice cabins for families without rv's . Close to great shopping, museums and great dining. Will definitely make this a destination again!

Room Tip: RV spots are spacious and can accomodate big rigs. Pet friendly.

We stayed here for our 1yr anniversary and loved it. It wasn't too busy and got to pick our own spot. I had reserved one ahead of time, but since it wasn't busy we picked one away from others. The spots are spaced out enough to where you're not right next to someone. We have a toy hauler w/ a back patio and backed up to the creek. The trees were full and green. It's a new facility, so there was some dirt piles. We just picked away from it. It was peaceful and quiet. We will be coming back!! It's a great place for kids even though we left ours at home! They have lots of activities for them, nice pool, game rooms and large bounce mat.

Once we found this park, it was very nice. Construction on the roadway and incomplete construction and signage at the park made it difficult to find. The park is operated by a young couple who aim to please. They are almost completely finished with construction and said the road signs will be up by Memorial Day. The location is perfect...hidden away, but close to historical downtown Fredericksburg, and several Texas wineries. Grape Creek Winery, Four Square Winery, and Messina Hof (tasting room only) are all very close and worth the visit. Walking around the park in the evening was especially nice. Fiberoptic lighting in the pool and hot tub made the entire area colorful. The lodge is spacious, has plenty to keep you occupied and socialize, and is decorated tastefully. Always events for children (hayrides, Yogi Bear wandering the park, etc). Great stay! Free WiFi and cable TV hookups. Big rigs will have no problem at this park. All hookups are 30/50 amp.

We camped at this park in a travel trailer over Spring Break. It was exceptionally clean. The tent and cabin loop is nicer than any campground we have ever visited, so much so that my daughter wanted to shower in their facilities as opposed to our less-than-a-year-old trailer. This is going to be a gem due to the excellent facilities, including a game room, arcade, lounge and workout room. Some of the outdoor facilities are not finished yet, though. The mini-golf course is labeled, but not even started, which disappointed my son. The pool is also beautiful and new, but I'm afraid it will be too small given the number of sites in progress and the heat of a south Texas summer. One of the RV loops is still mostly gravel, but they are still renting it. We were fortunate to have a beautiful site on the loop that has the grass in near the tent area facilities. We will definitely stay here again, but not with the expectation of staying on property throughout as one would at some Jellystones. It is in great proximity to Enchanted Rock, Fredericksburg Trade Days, and several winery tours. They also seem to be understaffed only by the owner's family, but they go out of their way to assist and accommodate. They kept the store open late during Spring Break to assist extra guests, and added additional movie nights. We look forward to visiting throughout its evolution. :)

Room Tip: For RVers camp on the Bluebonnet loop for now. The other one is not yet finished. Tents sites and c...

I usually prefer state parks when camping due to the price and cleanliness. I was pleasantly surprised and would visit again! There was plenty of stuff to do for the kids, the showers were clean, and there was a nice break room option that we did not get to use. If your are looking for a first time camping spot without completely roughing it, this is a nice place. This also a great place to lay your head if you are planing to visit Fredericksburg up the road without having to spend a pretty penny.

Fabulous Weekend at Texas Wine Country Camp Resort! Watched a movie at the amphitheater with the kiddos under the stars of a beautiful Texas night with popcorn and schmores' . Great swimming pool for the kids. Yogi Bear and friends made the rounds through the park to take pictures w the kids. Sissy and her husband are very kind and helpful, hard workers. Bounce houses and Putt-Putt will be installed in this brand new RV Resort that's off to a Great start! We will Definitely stay here again!!
