“Beautiful Bluebonnets and more”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2014

The Willow City Loop is one of the most scenic drives in Texas through towering granite hills and across a rocky fertile valley. It's a paved county road with private property on each side so you must stay in your vehicle. A favorite time to make the loop is during the wildflower season in late spring. The loop is about 12 miles and because of the many turns, slab creek crossings and narrow road, the drive takes about 45 minutes. Drive slow and watch for cattle as in some places there are no fences.

“Come during wildflower season”

Be sure to include this beautiful drive when visiting the Texas Hill Country! The Bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes are fabulous when there has been enough winter moisture.

If you are a wildflower photographer or just love looking at them, don't miss Willow City Loop. Just expect a great deal of traffic on weekends.

“Relaxing and Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2014

We drove the Willow City Loop on Easter weekend 2013. Although there were not as many bluebonnets as anticipated, the views were even better than we had expected! At times, the road reminded us of our many trips to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. We had to stop a few times along the road as cows would be lazily crossing. The Willow City Loop was a most memorable part of our trip! ((:

“Unbelievable Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2014

This little gem in the hill country is absolutely beautiful all year round for it's landscapes and hill crests. The views through here are really amazing. Sometimes you forget you are in the Texas Hill Country. Far and above all though is around April when the Bluebonnets and wild flowers are in bloom. You just can't beat the color and majesty at that time. It is a drive worth making.
