“A very nice visit”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

I was fortunately to have my high school love with me after 26 years and we were recommended this property, I am so glad that we were. The room was warm cozy and inviting. The bed was so comfortable we could hardly escape from its warmth. But the star of the room was the indescribable 4 person tub. We had a lovely dinner on main street, but mostly spent our time reliving youths memories;)

Room Tip: We were the only guess so we looked into all the rooms they were all awesome.

This was an unexpected find in Fredericksburg. We have searched for 10 years for a Bed & Breakfast that was clean, well appointed, not cutesy (don't like antiques for a room) and not too pricey. This place really surprised us. It is upstairs to a cabinet shop that makes very nice cabinets. They extended their craft to the upstairs and made some really nice rooms. All the rooms are suites (living room, bed room and bath) Ours had two large flat screen tv's, a king size bed with very nice bedding and a really cool shower in the bath. Breakfast was two coupons to three different restaurants. I picked the German Bakery and Cafe, good food and pasteries. I was hesitant to make a review because once the word gets out, I may not be able to book a room.

We spent 3 nights in the KingWood Suites Luxury Lodges with two other couples. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were superb! The mattress was so comfortable that I didn't want to drag myself out of bed in the morning. We especially enjoyed the common living area, complete with fireplace, kitchenette, and big screen television. The location is a few blocks off the beaten path which is nice. A 10 minute walk gets you to Main Street, but when you're ready to kick back, you have a nice quiet respite.

Room Tip: All of these Suites are spacious and very nicely furnished.

We stayed in the Diamond Suite w/ our 6 and 10 year old. Fredricksburg was busy spring break and last minute we decided to spend the night after a day at Enchanted Rock. The suite was very nice and we enjoyed the extra space - so much more space than double beds in a hotel room. It was a pricey night but we knew it would be. It was very noisy from their cabinet making business (the 4 suites are located in a building above and adjacent to the cabinet business) - before 8 AM. The beds were really comfy but btwn the noise and price it would be a deal breaker. And in a town with so many B&Bs I'd prefer experience a different location - and one that provided breakfast (esp for that price).

And why do all of the shops close so early - esp being spring break, beautiful weather and an extra hour of daylight...?

Stayed for two days in the two bedroom suite with my wife and children. Everything was as advertised. The management/ownership team was very cooperative and accommodating. I travel all over the US for my job. This is as good as any hotel I frequent when you consider location, pricing, building history, and modernization of the suites. Great place to stay in Fredericksburg. We will stay here again on our next trip.

This lodge is unique in that there are only 4 suites and they are above a business. If you want to be on your own in a quiet, clean, comfortable and high-end suite, then this is the place for you! They really have thought of everything! The room decor is upscale and modern. There is a Kuerig coffee maker in each room and a kitchen steps away from the suites for ice, cups, and miscellaneous items. Vouchers are given for breakfast and the location is within walking distance to Main Street. We stayed in the Ruby Suite which has 2 flat-screen TVs. Needless to say, my husband was a happy camper! The rooms are big with lots of shelf and storage space. Plus it offers free high speed internet and free parking! Kathy could not have been more accommodating and made our visit stress and hassel-free! Thank you, Kathy!

The suites were beautifuly decorated and perfectly clean. We stayed in the Diamond Suite which had two bedrooms, a full kitchen, a large living area and one bathroom. There is beautiful, highest quality, custom cabinetry throughout the suite. The full kitchen had stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The toiletries in the bathroom were of excellent quality and we enjoyed the luxurious robes. The living area had a huge tv in a custom entertainment center and comfortable leather furniture. The decor was modern and beautiful which is different than most of the Victorian B & B's in Fredericksburg. We also recieved breakfast vouchers for our choice of three local restaraunts that more than paid for our breakfast each morning of our stay. We will be back again!!
