The Bollinger Cabin at the Chuckwagon Inn was a wonderful get-away for us. The cabin was charming and had a peaceful porch swing were we enjoyed drinking a glass of wine and the end of the day. Even better were our hosts, Sam and Becky. They were the best we've ever experienced! We loved visiting with them and hearing their stories. They were great cooks too! Breakfasts were served home-style and delicious! Sam and Becky's restaurant and winery recommendations were spot on...loved Becker Winery! If you go there, as Henri about his fake goat hair mustache...he'll know that Sam sent you.

Dear Michele-Mag,
I certainly can understand about enjoying sitting on the Bolinger porch swing, as Elton John, my cat, and I also go over and have a peaceful and relaxing swing on a nice evening when we don't have guests. Stress just melts away. Thank you so much for the nice things you said about Sam and I and the breakfasts we served. We both love to cook and owning a B&B is the perfect outlet for that. I am sure you had a good laugh when you asked Henri about his moustache.
Hope you plan a return visit to the Chuckwagon Inn in the near future.

Thanks,
Sam and Becky

We again had a wonderful time resting, relaxing and visiting at Sam and Becky's Chuckwagon Inn B&B. The surroundings are beautiful, glorious sunsets, and there always seems to be a breeze. This enchanted hideaway includes comfortable accommodations, delicious food. fuuny stories and meeting new friends at breakfast. We treasure our visits to the Chuckwagon Inn each year.

Room Tip: Each room has it's own unique character. I like them all,but am partial to Pear Tree.

Hello 35Janet35,
Every July Sam and I look forward to your visit and feel honored that you come for a few days here before your annual kids and grandkids get-to-gather in Hunt. We had such a good time this year and the dinner we shared was delicious. We sat out every evening and enjoyed the breeze and laughed. We are already looking forward to next year and have picked out the perfect place for our dinner together.
Thanks for the kind guest review.

Thirteen years ago, Sam and Becky bought this historic German dairy farm and lovingly restored it to create this outstanding B & B. The cabins are comfortable, quiet, clean and each has its own charming personality. Sam cooks huge, delicious breakfasts, and he and Becky serve them in the original limestone house. What makes your stay memorable is Becky's and Sam's hospitality and their engaging personalities. They regaled us with stories that kept us laughing all through breakfast (shared with other guests around the long dining table). Breakfasts usually lasted about 1 1/2 hours because we were having so much fun and good conversation that no one wanted to leave! In addition, Sam hosts Happy Hour in the "Cantina" every evening for more comraderie.
We appreciated the good advice we received from Becky and Sam about restaurants and things to do during the 4 days we stayed with them. They were generous with their time and their knowledge of the area. We look forward to future visits to the Chuckwagon Inn.
Thanks, Becky and Sam for a great time! Colorado L & S

Hello Lucy,
You and your husband were such a joy to have in our home. Thanks for telling our story and the history of our B&B. You really got the most out of your visit to Fredericksburg and other parts of the Hill Country. When you relocate I sure hope you choose Fredericksburg because you are already friends and Sam and I would love to have you as neighbors.
Keep in touch,
Sam and Becky

Another wonderful stay at my favorite B&B!! We have stayed at other B&B's in the Fredericksburg area and keep returning to Chuckwagon Inn because there isn't a better B&B in Texas and Texas is a BIG state! Sam and Becky are the sweetest, most hospitable hostesses you will ever meet. The breakfast, (hence the term "breakfast" in B&B), is truly the best homemade breakfast you will ever eat! A lot of love goes into that meal and you can tell when you eat it, YUMMY!
You will not be disappointed staying at the Chuckwagon Inn. We have brought friends with us and they said they can't wait to back too!
Don't forget to spend time getting to visit with Sam in his Cantina. He's a trip!
You won't only eat a delicious breakfast and stay in a very cute room, you will also leave there with two new friends!

Room Tip: We have stayed in 4 of the 5 unique and adorable rooms and the beds are super comfortable. If you are traveling with another couple I suggest staying in Miss Beckys kitchen and Larry Bill's Bunkhouse. They share a private balcony!

Dear LSM72,
First of all I am sorry my response to your review was posted to the wrong one. I have contacted Trip Advisor and they will correct it.
I remember your first visit to our B&B and how much fun we had with you and your sister. Sam and I invited you back for our 4th of July celebration and you two accepted. Even though we had a lot of family and grandkids you fit right in and had a great time. Thank you for returning numerous times and bringing your friends. We have been so blessed with special guests, and friends like you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write that wonderful guest review.

The Chuckwagon Inn is a great place to escape to. The cabins are clean and comfortable with a rustic, country charm that tends to slow you down the moment you walk in. The setting is picturesque, harkening to the West Texas farmsteads where I once idled away long summer days. The food is to die for: abundant and delicious, prepared by people who obviously know good eats and love sharing them with their guests. Finally, the hospitality is delightful. Miss Becky's southern charm is a perfect counterpoint to Sam's country wit. Sam and Becky are extremely knowledgeable about the area and quick to point their guests to Fredericksburg's hidden treasures.

My wife and I have stayed at the Chuckwagon Inn six times since our first visit in 2002. We will be back. Our advise is to leave your cell phones, your cares and your diets at home and come to the Chuckwagon Inn. You will be glad you did!

Room Tip: We've stayed in most of the cabins at the Chuckwagon Inn over the years, and they are all delightful. If you want split living and sleeping areas and don't mind stairs, choose Miss Becky's Kitchen or Larry Bill's Chuckwagon. If privacy is your main concern, the Bollinger Cabin is for you. The Pear Tree Cottage or Mustang Bunkhouse are our favorites.

Hello Paul B,
You are right on about relaxing in Fredericksburg. It is amazing to me after just one night here at our B&B that many people forget to bring their cell phones to breakfast. It is hard to watch a beautiful sunset and the vast display of stars at night and still hang onto anxiety.
Sam and I have enjoyed having you and your wife as our guests over the years. Watching the fireworks on the 4th from lawn chairs on the front lawn has become a tradition we love to share with you two. Thanks also for sharing pictures of your grandchildren, as they are adorable.
Hope to see you July 4th 2013.
Sam and Becky
