The room's decor was great! Very country and quality throughout. Many amenities, jacuzzi tub, HD TV, kitchenette, internet access, pool, etc. Very clean and comfy. We only stayed one night as we were on a quick road trip. But was very impressed and well worth the price.

Up in Fredericksburg, there is a variety of things to do. There are museums, an event with Live music nearly every night, and a whole town ready to serve you. But, my friend and I wanted to get away. That's why we stayed in the Country Inn and Cottages - literally the cottages.
We stayed in Cabin 19, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The bed was soft and clean, and it was quiet. So very quiet. We couldn't hear any traffic on the road, or the whine of the fire alarm.
The main room has a lot of space in it. And the air conditioner was very efficient, keeping the room cold even during the hot of the day. Our cabin had a Jacuzzi bathtub/shower. We got two people in it, but we could have fit three. And the mini-fridge really held a lot of stuff (See picture).
To beat the epic heat, we utilized their pool. Now... I have a thing about pools. If it is in any way dirty, or I get even the smallest whiff of chlorine, I'm not there. Drives me nuts. But, I am very happy to report that this pool had neither of those faults. The owner (great guy) was telling me that the pool bottom lies directly on the bed-rock layer, and that's what keeps the pool at its very comfortable temperature. Also, they have a vending machine. With wine-bottle openers. Very useful.
I strongly recommend staying in the Cottages. It was great being just a couple of minutes from town, surrounded by the Hill Country. Wide spaces, relaxing quietness. If you want to immerse yourself in the rustic charm of an old Texas ranch, while still enjoying the pleasantries of modern functionality, this is your stop. And they have elk. Elk are just plain cool!

From the very minute that my getaway small wedding started to turn into a disaster due to another rental that has been completely misrepresented to the end of the perfect fairy tale wedding I was more than impressed with this property! I called after spending a horrible night at a historic home west of town and was just trying to salvage a 9 person, no guests wedding. Jeff took me out to the cottages and I broke down in tears due to how absolutely PERFECT the property is! Gorgeous rock cottages with stained concrete floors, leather furniture, cowhide rugs and antler handles no less on the doors! Beautifully decorated and all of the upscale amenities that we could ask for - we even held our wedding in the courtyard! I visit Fredericksburg three times a year and will never stay anywhere else again! The owners are lovely people and have impeccable taste - they have created the quintessential Hill Country experience with the deer, elk, cattle, peacocks and the most beautiful cottages I have ever seen! Thank you Jeff and Amy for making our special day so perfect! Your kindness in unmatched!

Room Tip: Book in advance for a one or two bedroom cottage - they are stunning!

We stayed with four couples in two units. We were in unit 2 and the other couples stayed in half of the first floor of the main house (unit 4 iirc).

Our unit was really neat with the following caveats;
-it is small
-the bathroom is through one bedroom
-If you are in the loft, be prepared to climb!

Getting into the loft bedroom could pose difficult for many. Once up there, it was cute and comfy. Older and/or overweight people and young children may have issues with the ladder (it is steep). You have to keep in mind that the front buildings are original to the property, so they have their quirks. That said, the buildings are really neat. The unit the others had was much larger. Both units were clean.

I liked getting the breakfast vouchers as opposed to a continental breakfast from a hotel. We ate breakfast both mornings at the Old German Bakery (great omelets and biscuits). The vouchers are for $6, so you will have to pay a couple dollars for a “real” breakfast.

We had a great time here. Fredericksburg is interesting, but we had as much fun hanging outside around the pool with the other guests. We would definitely stay here again!

My wonderful hosts to the hub of Texas Hill Country cycling is The Mazurek Family. Not just Jeff & Amy, but the entire clan at the Country Inn & Cottages on the edge of Fredericksburg, Tx. made me feel, I "arrived as a stranger & left as a friend". This lead to a decade of multiple yearly visits to enjoy all that the City and Gillespie County had to offer while in a most comfortable environment.

Room Tip: be honest and friendly

The place is wonderful. My wife and son love to watch the wildlife. The pool is great place to cool off in the summer. You have the option to get away and stroll the property or sit quietly under the oaks and feel the wind blow. My son, an avid bow hunter loves to observe the elk, axis and whitetails interactions.
The cottages are clean and the beds wonderful. Location is perfect, just far enough out of town to give some peaceful seclusion, close enough to run in and do some shopping and eat at the local restaurants. The owners and employees are super friendly and will accomodate you with most any request. Our family loves to travel to the Hill Country to hunt, swim, tube , and hike the Enchanted Rock area. We always stay at Country Inn and Cottages, and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. The vouchers are a great extra. You don't have to follow a schedule to get a meal. We love the flexibility of sleeping in and going to the Bakery or the German Restaurant for lunch. We recommend this country setting to all our relatives and friends as the only place to stay if going to Fredericksburg.

Absolutely awesome! We write this review reluctantly, selfishly wanting to keep this our little secret! The cottages are constructed to give a west Texas country theme. It is so peaceful
to sit under the oaks, breezes blowing across the pasture, watching wildlife meander without a care. The pool and hot tubs(2) are soothing getaways. The beds in the cottages feel like you are floating on clouds.
Our family has stayed at both the hotel and the cottages over the past several years, with stays in the original two story as well as the dog trot cabins and the newer stand alone cottages. We schedule stays every year during Easter, summertime, and in early fall. They are comfortable and provide all the amenities of a high end hotel room with the seclusion and privacy that is so hard to find now. Jeff , his wife, and the employees are friendly and accommodating every time we see them.
