The view is beautiful and it's just a spectacular place. Remember to go in the morning, if you go during Summer

Everyone must go at least once. Its a place of beauty and wonder. Take plenty of water and good hiking shoes!

Enchanted Rock is well worth the change of pace from Fredricksburg. A short 20 minute drive out of Fredericksburg will bring you to a place where you can stretch your legs more than going from store to store! We enjoyed the hike up to the summit, which required a couple of stops to catch our breath, but, was worth it. Nice view up top in all directions. Look for the marker on top.

My husband I were in Fredericksburg for our 10 year anniversary and were told this was a MUST SEE. After our trip was over we packed the car and headed to Enchanted Rock as a last stop before we headed home. It is a bit of a drive but anticipated it was well worth the trip. However, we were completely wrong. We drove 20 or so minutes to be told the park had reached capacity and we could not enter. We sat there for about 10 minutes and watched about 10 cars leave. So we went up to the gate and were told it would be a 2 hour wait before we could enter. We explained we lived out of town and this was our last stop for our anniversary, and we have been watching cars leave. She was rude and stated they had to wait for 150 people to leave. Very disappointed with the poor set up they have to accommodate people.

It was my second time there but nothing beats the feeling of success as you ascend this huge rock to get to the top and look at the beautiful scenery all around. It is something I would recommend to everybody to try. It is like a huge playground with boulders and tunnels and water. I also really enjoy the hike around the perimeter with time permitting.
And of course...if you have a state park pass, entrance is free!!
