“Wienerschnitzel success!”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

This place has outdoor seating, which was great with the warm weather. With a laid back atmosphere and friendly staff, this place was a good first impression of the German influence in Fredericksburg. All five of us ordered one of the three wiernerschnitzels on the menu and were all very happy with the large portions on our plates! I would also recommend ordering the sangria to drink---it was so delicious! This place is great for groups and wasn't to pricey. I believe each person paid less than $20 for their meal and that included the pitcher of sangria we split.

“Mediocre Food, Less than Mediocre Service”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Hot soup that wasn't served hot. Overdone schnitzel. Sausage was ice cold in the middle. Sauerkraut was straight from a can, maybe rinsed. Only part of this meal that was any good was the red cabbage, which was excellent.

We don't get to Fredericksburg very often and were looking forward to a nice German-style dinner. This was not it.

“Great food”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

Very authentic German cusine and very reasonably priced. Loved the Kasewurst and the spatzle! Couldn't find a think that we disliked. All the food was amazing.

“Help Needed...”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

Last time I ate here (a year ago), the food was great, the service was quick and the beer cold.
I've been coming to this place for years but after this visit, I'll rethink my plans next time.
Service was slow (and the place was about 1/4 full on an early weekday evening).
The $18.95 10oz New York strip (ordered medium rare) was a thin, tough, overcooked, grizzly piece of hide - not worth even half that price.
The nachoes were tough (did they re-heat them in the microwave? Sure seemed like it).
The chicken-fried steak was tough and over-breaded and the fries that came with it were lukewarm when they were served.
The draft beer (Spaten) was in a small mug (now, on this one, I can't say for certain, but it seemed as though they went for smaller mugs to keep the price the same).
Overall - NOT the nice place I remember.

“Poor Service & No Beer”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

Had to wait about 10 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge our presence then we found out that they were out of stock of draft German beer. Come on this is Fredericksburg and you have no German beer on draft.
