We really weren't prepared for Enchanted Rock, as we had failed to do our homework. You go there for hiking so wear appropriate shoes and bring water! The trails are not difficult but it can be a long climb to the summit and water is definitely a must. Gorgeous views from the summit. Make a day of it and take a picnic.

then get to it! I have lived in Austin for almost 7 years and I finally made it to Enchanted Rock. I am the most out of shape person right now and I STILL made it up to the very top. :) The views were just stunning....and take your camera because you will definitely want pictures off of the top of the rock. loved it and so glad I finally got to see it.

Great hiking location, loved the summit trail to the top of Enchanted Rock. This 425 foot climb will test your strength, stamina and endurance. Enjoyed the cave too. Venue at the top was amazing.

The tent campsites were pleasant and comfy and the restrooms were clean! Busy place but worth the trip!

12 dollars to get in and see the most beautiful view of your life. It's about 18 miles north of Fredericksburg make sure you take water with you but that's about all you need tennis shoes, water, and a fully charged camera!

It was fun but a little tiring and the wind is stringer at the top so wear a coat or you will freeze if its like when we went! It was warm when we started, hot from hiking when we arrived at the top and cold by sunset when we went back down! A local told us when we arrived at the bottom again...one thing you can count on with weather in the Hill Country...its going to change! But still fun!
