The Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth Hotel
Ranked #17 of 115 Hotels in Fort Worth
Reviewed June 12, 2013

Very nice hotel conveniently located in downtown Fort Worth. It has a very nice Texas feel. The bar is awesome with bartenders that can make all kinds of neat drinks. The Mother's Day brunch was excellent. The overall service was terrific. It is a large hotel and so take that into consideration but as I said the service and feel was excellent, so I didn't mind being in a large hotel like this. I really liked that I could walk to the nicest restaurants and activities in downtown. The rooms are nicely sized with comfortable beds.

Love the location of the Worthington, staff is helpful, rooms are large, bed is comfy.BUT some downsides: No free Wifi (?) aw come on.Coffee in room is with Styrofoam cups and powdered creamer.Could not figure out system for coffee, and it took two calls to find that out.Breakfast is $14 per person, will go to Starbucks.THERE IS NO REFRIGERATOR NO HONOR BAR.A glass of white wine and a beer with tip was $18! Saturday night means traffic noise outside with hot rods. So,mixed review for $179 a night.....

I have stayed at the Worthington Renaissance on 2 separate occasions. The first was in a basic king bedroom and we had to make a trip to the front desk each time we tried to get in to our room because the keys weren't working. (3 times in one night.)
The second time we stayed in a terrace suite. For $400, the room was run-down. Half the TV channels were out in the bedroom TV, you couldn't order movies from the bedroom TV, a wet bar door was hanging off the hinges, there were stains on the floor and there was no hot water to the bidet. For that price it was very disappointing.
On a plus side, the service staff is exceptional. Room service, lobby bar, front desk and the restaurant staff were all so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed everyone's positive attitudes so much.
I would not return due to the disappointing state of the room.

The Renaissance Worthington in downtown Forth Worth continues to impress. I've been there many times over the years and it seems to get better with age! The hotel is quiet, you don't hear your next door neighbors or what they are doing. The room was a great size, comfortable and the bed was comfy. The staff is outstanding in service and always willing to serve. They treat you like you are royalty. A lot of hotels won't let you take your car in and out of valet or charge you extra, but the staff at the Worthington will ask if you will need it soon and make sure to have it available. There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance or a short drive over to the SoSeven area.

Room Tip: We had a room on a high floor, so that limited the noise from the street. I have also stayed in one...

I stayed there for a business conference for two nights and three days. The conference area is so close to the elevators which was extremely convenient. The hotel is so spacious with very comfortable seating areas all over giving you views of the city or a private "nook" to relax and converse. The staff are all extremely friendly. For businesses, I highly recommend this hotel for large groups as it is spacious and has small to large conference rooms, ball rooms, breakout rooms and a great atmosphere.
The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable, well thought out and the bathrooms are clean which is critical for me. The hotel worked with our very large group working with a vendor to take us to Billy Bob's a western dance/fun place to take pictures on a fake bull, drink at multiple bars, and just have a great time. There are boutiques and a wide variety of restaurants across the street from the hotel. I would definitely come back.

Room Tip: The rooms were quiet, and you never heard doors, people walking by so any room has quality. I staye...

If you are looking for the perfect spot in downtown Fort Worth, this is it. We stayed there the night of the Parade of Lights, the Friday after Thanksgiving.

With all of the crowd downtown, it was nice to arrive early, do some shopping, and relax comfortably after a short walk from the parade area back to the hotel.

There is an in-house Starbucks and a nice gift shop. Also an indoor pool for year round swimming.

Anytime you are coming to Fort Worth and want a nice place to stay, this is it.

Disclaimer: I marked them down one star for an issue I had getting out of the self park garage. There was no one on duty and none of the "emergency" phones worked (which is scary). I had to walk back to the lobby to get it resolved (the parking garage exit is a bit of a hike to the lobby). I did an auto-check out of my room and thus left the room key in the room, which unfortunately was needed to exit the parking garage (would have been nice to know this ahead of time or during auto-checkout).

Overall, the hotel is nice, clean. Has a solid maintenance staff (talked to a guy who was repainting the trim on the way in) and everyone is very friendly. The gym is really great and there is a small indoor pool/hot tub which (if there is no one else around) is worthwhile. Bed was comfortable and location is tops. A bit on the pricey side, but probably worth it for the extras you get, including an internet café with a Starbucks and free wifi. I would give them an extra star if there was free wifi in the room, but alas no. When will hotels realize this is a freebie that makes all the difference when it comes to value?

Room Tip: higher up is best
