“Art in All Its Aspects”
Reviewed October 4, 2009

Five years ago when we started driving up to Fort Worth for the world-class art museums, we decided to go the B&B route. The Texas White House was the closest to the museum district, so for starters I picked it. One stay was enough to convince us that we would never want to stay anywhere else. Over the five years, we’ve stayed there at least a dozen times, including during Hurricane Rita, when we set up home with Grover and Jaimie for four days. They definitely understand the art of B&Bs. They are the kind of hosts that are warm and welcoming, and while they make you feel comfortable, they also give you plenty of space and privacy. The rooms are spacious, cozy and well-decorated, and the breakfasts are beyond outstanding. One of the things we especially value is coffee in our room an hour before breakfast. That allows us to read our books, write in our journals, and enjoy the quiet beginning to a day filled with art.

Our confirming email guaranteed that our stay would be comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. Grover and Jamie did not disappoint. Our room and bed very comfortable, the bathroom large and spotless. Breakfasts were the best we've had in any B&B. Most of all, however, the sincere hospitality we experienced from the hosts made this a wonderful visit. It makes us hope we'll have an opportunity to return to Fort Worth so we can visit this wonderful B&B again.

We stayed here last year on our first trip to the USA. Everyone said the people in Texas were the most friendly and polite and they were so right. Jamie and Grover were so nice and if we go back to Fort Worth as we would like to we would not hesitate to stay here again, We used it as a base to see as much of the area as we could and it was lovely to come back to and relax on the porch in the evening. The rooms were well looked after and Jamie has made each one special.

We were the first honeymoon couple of the Texas White House B&B. We live in the DFW area, but when we would like to get away from all the hustle and bustle we know where we can go and relax. We make it a point to go back every 5 yrs. (By the way we've been married 15 years) I have taken our daughter and spent the night as well for a girl's night away. We just love the hospitality and friends that we have made. The owners, Jamie and Grover are great !!! It is a true pleasure to visit TWH. Although, the name has the word "house" in it, it's more of a "home". Not only will you meet some of the best people there, you will have one of the best breakfast meals you have ever eaten. Jamie's recipies are fabulous. Oh yeah.. Grover makes a great cup of coffee. If you want a romantic place to stay try the Mustang or Tejas rooms, If you want adventure, try the haunted, Lone Star (my daughter loves this one). Don't miss out on this wonderful place.

We were in Fort Worth on business and wanted to make our one-night stay as fun as possible. We booked Texas White House B&B and asked if they could research setting up a private yoga lesson for us at 7 am the morning after our stay. They found someone who came bright and early and gave us a great yoga lesson outside in the garden area with the water fountain running. It certainly helped that the weather was beautiful; yet, the hospitality, kindness, food, and accommodations are what really made our stay one that we hope to experience again.

This is one of the best B&B's I have ever experienced, and the owners (Jamie and Grover) are some of the finest people I have ever met. I was in town for my father's surgery (hospital right across the street); it was a stressful time, but the room was such a peaceful, beautiful retreat. Jamie and Grover were so caring and bent over backwards to accomodate my needs. It felt like I was being cared for by amazing friends at a time I really needed a little TLC.

There is an amazing attention to detail--you can tell the owners have really thought about how best to make their guests feel at home. There are absolutely no negatives I can offer--beautiful room, caring owners, delicious food (wow!). There are cute restaurants within walking distance, a grocery store is a short drive down the street, and a city bus line stops not far away.

I have delayed my review (my father, unfortunately, has required many months of difficult convalescence which has required my attention), but that in no way diminishes my enthusiasm for this place........Just stay at the Texas White House--you will not be disappointed. I give it my highest review. A++++++++++!
