Five years ago when we started driving up to Fort Worth for the world-class art museums, we decided to go the B&B route. The Texas White House was the closest to the museum district, so for starters I picked it. One stay was enough to convince us that we would never want to stay anywhere else. Over the five years, we’ve stayed there at least a dozen times, including during Hurricane Rita, when we set up home with Grover and Jaimie for four days. They definitely understand the art of B&Bs. They are the kind of hosts that are warm and welcoming, and while they make you feel comfortable, they also give you plenty of space and privacy. The rooms are spacious, cozy and well-decorated, and the breakfasts are beyond outstanding. One of the things we especially value is coffee in our room an hour before breakfast. That allows us to read our books, write in our journals, and enjoy the quiet beginning to a day filled with art.
