“Service the best”

Try this restaurant for the first time and liked it so much we returned for lunch the next day. Food is good and varied but the service makes it stand out

“noisy, tastless food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2014

Kona Grill if not PanAsian Fusion food often found in Hawaii. The calamari was soggy and tasteless and the white fish ceviche was dry and boring. The salads highlight many ingredients but are mostly lettuce. The room was extremely noisy.

“Great happy hour in West 7th - nice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

Busy restaurant, they just opened last month. They were so busy I had to sit at the sushi bar, which turned out to be just fine. They have one of the best happy hours around. My favorite non happy hour dish is the salmon with fried rice. The rice is not like the kind you get in a chinese restaurant. It is true hawaiian style. I would go there just for the fried rice, it's that good.

“We were hoping for more”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2014

This was our first visit to Kona Grill. It was Friday (after work) and because of it's location, we walked. The outside patio was fun, and offered a variety of high top, conventional and group seating. The wait staff was very attentive; moving heaters around to accomodate guests on a cool evening. We had a variety of apetizers and happy hour drinks. We will not order margaritas, potstickers or apple & brie flatbread again. The margaritas were 'watered down'. The potstickers and apple & brie flatbread were bland and not really suitable for a Friday night happy hour. We liked the sweet & spicy shrimp. We left and went somewhere else for dinner.

“NIce little happy hour.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2014

This is a new place in the fast growing 7th Street Cultural District and I thought it was pretty good. We walked in, were promptly greeted by happy hostesses and were shown to our table in the bar area for happy hour. The whole atmosphere was pleasing to the eye with lots of aquariums, plate glass, interesting lams and nicely arranged televisions tuned to sports! The service started out a bit slow, but was attentive, very helpful and really exceptional in the end. We had the calamari, bar-b-que flatbread and some sushi as apps and all three were wonderful! Well, I did not actually eat the sushi, but my friend loved it. When the manager Thao came by our table, he recommended this chocolate thing for dessert. It was the largest brownie topped with ice cream, drizzled with three different types of chocolatness I've seen served! It was an amazing dessert and really topped off a nice time!! I would absolutely return to the nice addition to must see Cultural district area!
